Miss Ozzy Pawsbourne

Miss Ozzy Pawsbourne I was found at the loading dock of an Old Navy. At approximately 4 weeks old I was alone and scared.

My paws were burnt, and I required medical attention to repair a re**al prolapse.

She’s getting bigger.

Miss Ozzie spent the weekend at the vet while we were in San Diego. They removed the purse string and kept a close eye on her. She is now home and hopefully completely recovered.

Miss Ozzy update: The vet checked her first string today and wants to keep it in another week. She is doing well, has a huge appetite for such a tiny kitten and loved to play with the other cats. She is living her best life despite her rough beginning.

Miss Ozzy update: She saw a new vet today. He wants to keep the purse string stitches in for two more weeks and increase her fiber intake. The hope is that she will not prolapse again. If so, she will need another purse string stitch done and they can do it there at Ambassador Veterinarian Hospital. They are a lot less expensive than the VCA. So, we won't be forking out $1k a pop. If her re**um keeps coming out, she will need a colopexy around ten months of age. If you wish to donate to save Miss Ozzy you can Venmo me at 562-822-2287 or via my GoFund me. Every dollar helps.

Update: We are trying the purse string again. Colopexy surgery is not an option. She needs to be at least 9 months to a year.

Back at the vet. We are so in love with our sweet girl. I’m afraid we will have to let her go. I can’t bear to euthanize her. Praying they can do the colopexy.

Miss Ozzy updated. Today is not a good day. She has been pr*****ed since I got up this morning. I haven’t been able to get it to go back in. She is 1 pound 4 ounces now. Many vets want kittens to be 3 pounds before they put them under anesthesia. I want so badly for her to make it.

Miss Ozzy is doing well. She’s still having issues with slightly prolapsing, but the sugar trick is keeping it at bay. When she was rescued her front paw pads were burnt. Presumably from hot cement. The pads have pretty much healed. She has damage to one of the nail beds and the claw is deformed.

Miss Ozzy update. She is getting more active and now wanting to investigate. She is still slightly prolapsing after using the litter box. I found that if I apply a little pressure with a kitty wipe it goes right back in. I am hopeful that we can avoid another procedure at least until she is big enough for a colopexy if prolapsing continues. Hopefully as she grows the issue will resolve completely.

Tiny but mighty. My rescue mom is crazy. I was alone and scared in a piece of furniture behind an Old Navy. My paws were burned by the hot concrete. Shortly after my rescue I experienced a re**al prolapse. I needed expensive medical treatment. My new mom couldn't bear to euthanize me, and the rescue didn't have the funds to back my surgery. Fortunately, care credit came through and mom financed my care.
