At Happy Hounds Hotel & Day Spa, we've seen our share of collar-related issues over the years — collars worn too loose or too tight, poorly fitted harnesses, injuries from improperly used prong collars, and even burns caused by e-collars set far higher than necessary.

When we see something concerning, our goal is education, not judgment. Most dog owners appreciate learning something they may not have realized.

Let us be clear: e-collars can be valuable tools when used properly. They can help reinforce behaviors, support off-leash reliability, and assist working dogs. But they should never be used to force compliance through pain or fear.

Training should strengthen trust, communication, and confidence. Shocking a dog into obedience isn't training.

It's abuse. 🐾
