🐾🦌 KEEP YOUR DOG SAFE FROM COLORADO WILDLIFE! 🏔️🐕
Colorado is beautiful and that means we share our outdoor spaces with plenty of wildlife. While seeing wildlife can be exciting, encounters can quickly become dangerous for our pets. ❤️
🦌 Keep your pup safe by:
• Keeping dogs on a leash when hiking or walking near wildlife
• Never allowing your dog to chase or approach wild animals
• Keeping a safe distance from deer, elk, foxes, coyotes, and other wildlife
• Supervising your dog closely, especially at dawn and dusk
• Making sure your yard is secure and your dog cannot wander
• Keeping food and trash secured so you don’t attract wildlife to your home
⚠️ Remember: Wildlife can become defensive when they feel threatened, especially if they are protecting babies. Even a curious, friendly dog can be injured during an encounter.
🦊 If your dog does have contact with wildlife, contact your veterinarian as soon as possible, especially if there are bites, scratches, or unknown exposure.
A little prevention can go a long way in keeping our Colorado pups happy, healthy, and safe! 🐾💚
