📣 Flynn Vet has some important news to share!

First, cheers to the change in season and mares starting to grow those bellies! We are so excited to see the 2027 foal crop, and want to express our sincerest gratitude to everyone who brought your mares to Flynn Vet this breed season. It was truly a great breed season, and I am very proud of the success God granted us.

5 years ago, I would have had no idea that we would have a full blown stallion station, breeding mares from different states & counties, and shipping across the country. I never would have dreamed to be standing 3 phenomenal stallions. We are so grateful to have Chiquita Cat, and to the Withers and VanBelle families for entrusting us with the success of their breeding programs. I don’t mean to boast, but what an incredible stallion roster to have in Lake County Oregon!

This business has been a dream come true, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the success and blessings that have come. However, running a stallion station with only 1 vet and just a couple techs, in the most rural part of Oregon, is not an easy task. We did it, and I think we did it well. But, I have 2 little kids at home, and I can’t let the thief of time steal from me. It has been put on my heart to “slow down” and actually do that instead of just say it. I have made the very tough decision to step back from standing outside stallions and shipping next year. We plan to still stand Chiquita Cat for a limited number of onsite/local mares. I am extremely sorry for the inconvenience and the wrench it may throw in plans… please know the decision has been really hard. But I have to make this change now… not 10 years from now when it’s too late and the reward is regret. I do love the repro gig, and fully expect to be back in the thick of it when the time is right for my family. Things will still be plenty busy with regular vet med, Chiquita Cat, and our own horse program, but it’s a big step in the direction I need to go right now.

CR One Tuff Dual will still be standing at stud for 2027 - announcements on that will be coming soon. Please contact Colleen Withers for future breeding inquiries with him. Woodrow is the sweetest boy, and his face will be missed. He’s going to keep doing great things!

If you’d like to be on Chiquita Cat’s books for 2027, please let us know. More information to come, but booking will be limited and on a first come, first serve basis.

THANK YOU to my wonderful clients… thank you for your support, your business, your trust, your friendships, and your understanding 💕

Blessings,
Elise Flynn, DVM

This guy is cool 😎 Excited to have him standing with us for breed season!

World’s Greatest didn’t turn out exactly how we hoped, but that’s showing.

And we are SO proud of Woodrow.

This was only his sixth show ever in eight years. Flint stepped into the pen aboard a horse competing against those that have spent their entire lives in professional training programs.

Other trainers were asking, “Where did this horse come from?”

Flint and Bea at Lee Stock Horses have believed in this horse from the very beginning. We’ll never forget dropping off a gangly two-year-old and saying “good luck,” trusting them with the future of our ranch horse program. If you haven’t thanked your trainer today, you should. Flint and Bea are true partners (and mane stylists!) to their horses and their clients.

What matters most to us is that Woodrow’s talent doesn’t come with caveats. We can haul him to Fort Worth to compete with the big boys, to a local show, head or heel on him at a team roping, or go ranch on him tomorrow — and he’ll show up and do his job the same way every time.

That kind of mind and true versatility is exactly what we want in a stud.

We’re excited to share Woodrow with mare owners this breeding season.

It’s calving season! Wear your mittens!

We hate whenever there is a need to intervene, but sure can’t complain about spending time with babies this cute! 🥰
Thankfully this one has a good prognosis and will be playing with his new buddies soon!

I want to take a moment to share something from the heart.

As we step into the new year, I want to acknowledge that 2025 was hard. I learned about limits and priorities. Turns out, I’m no superhero, and I have physical, mental and emotional limits as all humans do. I realized that I’m the only one to choose my priorities, and it’s imperative I get them right: God, family, veterinary medicine. I must keep those priorities in check, to be the best veterinarian I can be. I pray that God will help me handle my limits with grace, and maintain my priorities so that I can serve for His glory.

Please know that I get true joy in helping animals and their owners, and that if I can help, I will. Nothing is harder on me, than telling someone I can’t help them. If I can make something more convenient for you, I will happily do so. But, I have learned that I must be careful not to add so much to my plate that it shatters. If you have an emergency or time sensitive communication, please don’t hesitate to get ahold of me. I want to help! If I can, I will. For non-emergencies, please refrain from contacting me outside normal business hours (8am-5pm M-F). That is my time to give to my kids, my husband, myself, and my God. I need that time for my brain to be turned off to rest.

Veterinary medicine is a deeply rewarding profession—but it is also one filled with long hours, emotional cases, difficult decisions, and a level of responsibility that can be heavy to carry. Like many healthcare providers, veterinarians and our staff are navigating increased demand, staffing challenges, the emotional toll of caring so deeply for both animals and the people who love them, and the very real strain that comes with providing 24/7 care.

Please know that at Flynn Vet, behind every appointment, phone call, and interaction is a team that truly cares and is doing their absolute best—often sacrificing personal time, rest, and emotional energy to provide the highest level of care possible.

I ask for your patience, understanding, and grace when things feel rushed, delayed, or not perfect. A kind word, a moment of compassion, or even just knowing you see us as humans too—it really means so much.

I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to my wonderful clients. I am blessed to consider so many of you friends. Thank you for trusting us with the care of your animals. Your confidence, understanding, support, kindness, and partnership mean more than you may realize—and they help sustain our team so we can continue providing high-quality care for years to come.

2026 has big blessings coming!
