Pardon the (er) Interruption

April 8 is National Dog Farting Awareness Day. Remember the book, Walter the Farting Dog? It was Walter's flatulence that interrupted robbers.

Does your dog regularly pass gas? Our Schnauzer, Angel, does what we now call Barting. Sometimes, when she is so busy barking, she quickly turns around, startled by something that erupted from her bum. There is no sound nor have we ever detected an odor.

Our Veterinary Advisory Board reminds us that there are a number of factors behind a farting dog, including a sedentary lifestyle, eating quickly and swallowing air, as well as chowing down on difficult-to-digest food. Kind of like the same factors for humans.

🫶On another more serious note, today, April 8, is also National Dog Fighting Awareness Day. To bring awareness to the cause, Roxy's Coffee is hosting Stand Up for Dogs, this evening at Dog Bar St. Pete from 6p-8:30. Learn more about passing the Fight Act, this evening. 🫶 Happy hump day, dog lovers.
