Happy 11th Birthday to the Queen of the Weens (Dobermans), Coco! 🎉❤️

Last November, Coco was diagnosed with bone cancer. Thankfully, it had not spread to her lungs. We were able to get an appointment with an oncologist at Fetch, who recommended amputating the affected leg. He told us, “God gave dogs four legs, but knew they could walk on three.”

Coco underwent surgery, and although she experienced some complications, including excessive bleeding that required several blood transfusions, she fought through it all. We’re so grateful to say that we’ve finally come out the other side.

Even better, her biopsy results revealed fibrosarcoma rather than osteosarcoma. While no cancer diagnosis is good news, fibrosarcoma is generally less aggressive, which gave us some much-needed hope.

She returns every two months for chest X-rays, and so far, everything has looked good.

One thing I want to share with other pet owners: advocate for your dog. This all started with a limp in her back leg, and we took her to the vet that same week. Trust your instincts and don't ignore changes in your pet's behavior or mobility.

Today, we're celebrating 11 amazing years with this strong, resilient girl. Happy Birthday, Coco! 🐾💕
