Meet Violet and Tinkerbell: These two are 6 months old (as of March 2026) Staffordshire terrier / lab mix (best guess) that weigh about 35 pounds. The sisters were found in someone's garage shivering and hungry and huddled together during a recent snowstorm in Memphis where the temperatures dipped into the single digits. A good human helped them out by feeding them and later taking them to the city shelter where we learned of them and were able to get them into our rescue. They were both a little shy in the shelter but over the days of being in a home attentive to her needs she began to overcome her shyness. Violet overcame her shyness first, while Tinkerbell was a few days behind her sister in that respect. Now, if either is the more engaging and attentive, it's Tinkerbell. Both love to engage with her foster dad and play actively with the other dogs in the foster home. Their preferred day is to be able to lounge around close to their foster. They welcome Their foster dad at the door when he comes home and love to sleep on the floor beside the bed at night. They are in a home with a doggie door and may need some patience while they continue to work on their house training. They really need to have a home with a fenced in yard to run and play freely. They are up to date on their puppy shots and spayed. If you are interested in adding either girls to your life, please go to Charlie’s Crusaders website (www.charliescrusaders.org) to fill out an application.
