3/14/22 - ADOPTION PENDING TRANSPORT! South Carolina - "I had over 300 requests for the Danes." -Andrea - they were surrendered - were getting over an 8' fence. They MAY be going to FL.

Per the shelter "Little Lamb is great - she is the sweetest and she gets along with other dogs. male and female." IN SHELTER A MONTH this girl may need several surgeries to fix her leg. we need a long term foster. probably lots of crate rest

Has already been held for a 10 day quarantine- because she might have been involved in a bite- two dogs- person didn’t know which dog bit them.
Little Lamb
Female (altered) 5 yr 36 lbs heartworm negative dog friendly very calm outside the cage just hangs around super quiet
x-rays of the hindlimbs and pelvis show arthritic changes within the left stifle (osteophytosis, sclerosis) and effusion within the joint. There is reduction in muscle mass in the left thigh as compared to the right. Milder effusion in the right stifle. Some flattening of the right femoral head
Medical update: has a medial patella luxation and at least partial cruciate ligament tear (similar to an ACL tear in people) in her left knee. This means that her left kneecap moves out of place when she is walking and also that her left knee is unstable due to the ligament injury. Due to these knee problems, she has developed arthritis in her left knee. The recommended treatment for this is surgery. This is not a surgery performed at GCAC. Alternatively, adopters will need to manage arthritis in her knee for life. Adopters should follow up with their veterinarian to manage Little Lamb's arthritis.

very sweet and friendly
loves to be petted and to be close to you for attention
will (sort of) sit when asked – usually needs you to tap on her bottom to remind her though
will hold out her paw for you to hold without you even asking. She loves to hold hands
came into the shelter with her puppies in tow – all of which have since been adopted.

Came into the shelter as a scared stray who acted out aggressively with that fear.

She unfortunately bit someone and had to come here for quarantine
shows signs of possible abuse in the past. Doesn’t like fast movements or when people try and touch her head and face
has improved some. Is able to be leashed up and taken on walks. Much less nervous outside of her kennel
will ask for pets and affection (just not on face). Will even jump up on you gently to give hugs
listens well and will sit on command
needs someone to help build up trust in people again
