Today, we had to say goodbye to our sweet Trouble. 💔🌈
Trouble came to us after she became ill and her family wasn’t sure what to do. They brought her to us, hoping we could help. When she arrived, she had very little energy and didn’t want to eat. We took her to the vet, where they discovered a mass in her GI tract with its own blood supply. Unfortunately, because of its location and blood flow, it was ultimately inoperable.
We knew from the beginning that Trouble’s time with us would likely be temporary. But that didn’t make saying goodbye any easier. We did everything we could to make whatever time she had comfortable, happy, and filled with love. ❤️
Trouble loved her soup. She loved wandering around the play area and, perhaps most of all, she loved tunnels. She loved them so much that we put one right inside her cage so she would always have a cozy place to hide and feel safe.
She was a tough little girl. A fighter. And she fought right until the very end.😔
We always wish we could have had more time. We wish we could have fixed what was wrong and given them all the years they deserved. But sometimes, all we can do is make the time they do have count. We can give them comfort. We can give them safety. We can give them full bellies, favorite things, soft places to sleep, and most importantly, we can give them love.
And Trouble knew she was loved. ❤️
Run free, sweet girl. No more pain. No more fighting. Just endless tunnels, endless soupies, and all the freedom you could ever want. 🌈💔
"Her strength knows no bounds,
She overcomes, she perseveres, she astounds.
She is a warrior, a queen, a friend.
Her love and compassion knows no end."
