Welcome to 8-week-old Labrador Retriever puppy Hazel, a service dog prospect! She is getting used to the routine here and has been a dream to handle.

If you'd like to help with Hazel and our other puppies, we would love to invite you to puppy class on Saturday mornings. You train a puppy during class and then may take a service dog shopping! There's a shopping plaza just 5 minutes away, and some of your favorite stores are there!

From Scott Edgell, the military veteran who received service dog Mars from Pups 4 Patriots: "I was able to take Mars to a hockey game in Philadelphia. Tyler Meyers was traded to the Dallas Stars and we got to go see him play. Mars is as amazing as ever, truly a blessing each and every day." Way to go, Scott. A hockey game is an incredible feast or noise, lights, and action. Proud of both of you for being there."

Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League, thank you for the Fix-a-Bull program. Just passed the information along to a new client, and am so pleased at this forward thinking and helpful program. From a trainer's perspective, this program complements manners training, including safe leash walking.

https://peggyadams.org/press-releases/introducing-fix-a-bull-a-free-spay-neuter-program-for-pit-bull-type-breeds/

"Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League is excited to announce Fix-A-Bull, a completely free Spay/Neuter Program designed specifically for pit bull-type breeds. Pit bulls are known for their loyalty, intelligence, and affectionate nature. However, they are often disproportionately affected by overpopulation, leading to overcrowded shelters and increased euthanasia rates. By offering free spay and neuter surgeries that include veterinary wellness such as vaccinations, the Fix-A-Bull program aims to improve a fixable problem."

Ben and service dog in training Beau put in the public access steps on Friday. Service dogs may be nontraditional breeds, but their behavior must be no less appropriate -- perhaps even more so, as they often receive more scrutiny. They must be quiet, leashed, within two feet of their handler, and neither pulling nor lagging. Ben is working on Beau's impulse control when he moves the shopping cart and pretends to select an item. Beau looks happy to work here.
