Happy Sunday!
I will be working on getting points, side pot results, and the 50/50 raffle drawing posted and hope to have everything completed by the middle of the week.
I also want to address something regarding office procedures. As our shows continue to grow, with some events reaching 400-500 entries, we have developed systems and procedures that allow us to efficiently manage times, placings, points, payouts, and ribbons while keeping the show running smoothly.
The office closes shortly after the Youth division begins, and ribbons and payouts are distributed at designated times. We also provide note cards for adds, scratches, and questions so that office staff can address them during breaks without disrupting show operations.
Before I continue, I want to make it clear that this post is not directed toward 95% of the people who attend our shows. The vast majority of our exhibitors and families are patient, respectful, understanding, and greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, it only takes a small percentage of people to create situations that negatively impact our volunteers and can ultimately affect the atmosphere of the entire show.
Recently, we have experienced an increase in people becoming frustrated with these procedures, including banging on office doors, yelling through windows, and leaving rude notes. We understand that waiting can be frustrating, but these procedures exist for a reason and help us maintain accuracy and efficiency for everyone. We have been helping with a variety of horse shows for many years, and I have never known a show where winnings are provided immediately after a participant runs. Waiting until the end of a show to receive winnings is simply how horse shows operate.
Please remember that our office staff are volunteers who dedicate their time to making these shows possible. We are always happy to help and welcome constructive feedback, but disrespect toward staff or established procedures will not be tolerated.
Thank you to the overwhelming majority of our exhibitors and families who consistently support our volunteers and respect the procedures that help keep these shows running smoothly. Your patience and understanding are a big part of what makes these shows successful and enjoyable for everyone.
