LSAH is happy to introduce our second Urgent Care Doctor, Dr. Laure Molitor!
"Hello! I’m Dr. Laure Molitor. I will be joining the BoosterPet team at the Lake Stevens Animal Hospital as an additional veterinarian. I most recently served the community as an emergency veterinarian. Prior to that, I worked in the research field, with a variety of species including pigs, rodents, monkeys, dogs, birds, and reptiles, to name a few. I’m excited to be a part of BoosterPet in helping support pet families experiencing acute illness and hopefully avoiding the stress, long waits, and expense of a 24/7 ER. After seeing so many critically ill pets, I’m also looking forward to having healthy pet exams with happy pet parents!

Although I am still adjusting to the PNW precipitation, when I’m not working, I spend as much time outside as possible. I have 2 malinois that are trained in search and rescue. I also have a 15 year old chihuahua, a cat, and a 25 year old leopard gecko."

The Hidden Dangers of Dental Disease
Doggy breath isn’t just an annoyance—it could be a red flag. Periodontal disease starts as plaque and tartar but can quickly escalate, causing tooth loss and systemic health issues.
Signs of Dental Trouble:
• Yellow or brown tartar along the gum line
• Swollen, red, or bleeding gums
• Drooling or difficulty chewing
• Loose or missing teeth
Oral bacteria can enter your dog’s bloodstream, leading to infections in vital organs, a condition known as bacteremia.
Daily Care: Brush teeth with enzymatic toothpaste for dogs. Pair brushing with positive reinforcement to build a habit.
Diet & Chews: Offer specially formulated dental diets or chews that reduce plaque. Look for VOHC-approved products.
Professional Cleanings: Schedule regular dental cleanings under anesthesia with your veterinarian. This allows for thorough tartar removal and oral exams. Good dental care isn’t just about a clean smile—it’s about keeping your dog happy, healthy, and pain-free! 💖
