LSAH is happy to introduce our second Urgent Care Doctor, Dr. Laure Molitor!
"Hello! I’m Dr. Laure Molitor. I will be joining the BoosterPet team at the Lake Stevens Animal Hospital as an additional veterinarian. I most recently served the community as an emergency veterinarian. Prior to that, I worked in the research field, with a variety of species including pigs, rodents, monkeys, dogs, birds, and reptiles, to name a few. I’m excited to be a part of BoosterPet in helping support pet families experiencing acute illness and hopefully avoiding the stress, long waits, and expense of a 24/7 ER. After seeing so many critically ill pets, I’m also looking forward to having healthy pet exams with happy pet parents!

Although I am still adjusting to the PNW precipitation, when I’m not working, I spend as much time outside as possible. I have 2 malinois that are trained in search and rescue. I also have a 15 year old chihuahua, a cat, and a 25 year old leopard gecko."

The Hidden Dangers of Dental Disease
Doggy breath isn’t just an annoyance—it could be a red flag. Periodontal disease starts as plaque and tartar but can quickly escalate, causing tooth loss and systemic health issues.
Signs of Dental Trouble:
• Yellow or brown tartar along the gum line
• Swollen, red, or bleeding gums
• Drooling or difficulty chewing
• Loose or missing teeth
Oral bacteria can enter your dog’s bloodstream, leading to infections in vital organs, a condition known as bacteremia.
Daily Care: Brush teeth with enzymatic toothpaste for dogs. Pair brushing with positive reinforcement to build a habit.
Diet & Chews: Offer specially formulated dental diets or chews that reduce plaque. Look for VOHC-approved products.
Professional Cleanings: Schedule regular dental cleanings under anesthesia with your veterinarian. This allows for thorough tartar removal and oral exams. Good dental care isn’t just about a clean smile—it’s about keeping your dog happy, healthy, and pain-free! 💖

Important Information for all Microchipped Pets!
Important Update: Re-Register Your Pet’s Microchip

Dear Awesome Lake Stevens Animal Hospital Clients:

We want to inform you of an important update regarding microchip registration. Lake Stevens Animal Hospital has been using Save This Life microchips for many years. Unfortunately, it appears that Save This Life has gone out of business, and any microchip registered with them may no longer be accessible.

To ensure your pet’s safety and that their microchip information remains active, we strongly recommend re-registering their microchip with a different company as soon as possible. Below are a few reputable microchip registries where you can update your pet’s information:

HomeAgain – https://www.homeagain.com

AKC Reunite – https://www.akcreunite.org

PetLink – https://www.petlink.net

Found Animals Registry – https://www.foundanimals.org/microchip-registry/

If you are unsure whether your pet’s microchip was registered with Save This Life, you can check the status by entering their microchip number into the Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool: https://www.petmicrochiplookup.org.

Your pet’s microchip is a vital safeguard in case they are ever lost. Please take a few minutes to ensure their information is updated with a reliable registry.

If you have any questions or need assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact us at (425) 377-8620. You can also come by the clinic and we can scan your pet’s microchip and help you with this process in person. As always, we are here to help and feel fortunate that you are a part of our Lake Stevens Animal Hospital Pet Parent Community.

Take Care,
Lake Stevens Animal Hospital
