🎃 Sometimes it’s not the big things you miss. It’s having someone to carve a pumpkin with.

Maybe your little one just started kindergarten, your not-so-little one left for college, or your family looks different this year. Maybe you’re missing someone you wish could be here. You don’t have to share your story to join us. 🧡

I’m starting a pumpkin contest right here on Debbie’s Dog Training—just a little reason to get creative and do something together.

Thinking about adopting a dog? I’d be glad to help you make a more informed decision.

I’m offering pre-adoption behavior evaluations for people considering a dog from a shelter or rescue. I can observe how the dog responds to ordinary, low-pressure interactions, whether they show signs of discomfort, and whether they’re able to disengage or move away when they need space.

The goal is to give you a clearer picture of the dog in that moment and help you think through what support might be needed—not to label a dog as “good” or “bad,” or promise how they’ll behave in every future situation. Dogs can respond differently as they settle into a home, and an evaluation is only one piece of the adoption decision.

If you’re considering a dog and would like support, message me before the adoption. I’m happy to talk with you and, when possible, coordinate with the rescue or shelter.

This may look like two dogs simply enjoying the a chew—but for these two, it represents tremendous progress.

This Australian Cattle Dog Darla and Pit Bull, Azula have a history of serious conflict and could not safely share valued items. Through patient, relationship-based training, careful management, and closely supervised practice, they are learning to remain calm and comfortable around one another.

Good dog training often looks boring and quiet—and that is exactly what we want. 🐾

This interaction was closely supervised. Dogs with a history of fighting should not be placed together around food, toys, or chews without an individualized training and safety plan.

🐾 Dogs change—and their lives change with them.

A puppy’s needs are different from an adolescent dog’s needs. Families move, schedules change, new pets arrive, children visit, and dogs eventually enter their senior years. Training should be able to grow and adapt alongside them.

That is why I created the Forever Program.
