A big shout-out to our amazing receptionist team!

They’re the first hello, the reassuring voice on the phone, and the familiar faces who welcome you and your pets. Behind the desk, you are likely to see thier personal collection of pets while juggling calls, coordinating care, and helping busy days run smoothly. We are thrilled to welcome our newest team member Bre and her dog Cane!

Thank you for caring for the people who love our patients. We appreciate everything you bring to ACGLO! 💙

Their résumé lists their skills. Your pet feels their heart.

During National Veterinary Technician Week, we’re celebrating everything our veterinary technicians bring to your pet’s care—including the things you won’t find on a CV.

Their medical skills are remarkable: drawing blood, taking X-rays, running laboratory tests, performing dental cleanings, assisting in surgery, monitoring anesthesia, and guiding patients safely through recovery.

But there’s another part of their work that deserves just as much recognition.

Recognizing pain in a patient who cannot tell us where it hurts. Noticing when nervousness calls for a slower approach. Knowing who needs a quiet cuddle, who needs space, and who feels better with a little playful silliness.

They’re the ones adjusting a blanket, offering reassurance, celebrating a first bite of food after surgery, and sitting beside a patient so they don’t have to wake up alone.

They are your pet’s advocate—speaking up for their comfort, watching for subtle changes, and making sure their needs are heard.

When you place your pet in our care, our technicians bring knowledge, skill, and a whole lot of TLC to every moment you don’t get to see.

To our veterinary technicians: thank you for your capable hands, attentive eyes, and compassionate hearts. Your work matters. And so does every little act of love. 💙

Our hospital turned 40 years old this year. Dr. Gregg Takashima came in to share his story. He created far more than a veterinary hospital. He built a place rooted in excellent medicine, genuine relationships, hard work, laughter and always doing the right thing. Although he has retired, his influence is still felt throughout this hospital. Forty years later, we are incredibly proud to continue what he started.
