We’ve still got some Moosa to share!

This girl lovessss those cardboard scratching houses. Especially the two story ones! That gives her great leverage to swat at her brothers down below. She loved doing that to Doc. He would be so peaceful down below and all of a sudden get a little swat from Moosa 😂

Look at Moosa after her very first full body shave! This was years ago. I decided that having her shaved once-twice a year was best for her. Her fur is very cotton like. As she got older and really became a long haired cat, I realized that if I didn’t keep up with brushing her daily then she would get matted. So this is her after her very first hair cut.

Still as cute as ever! 🐱

Baby Moosa and my very first foster kitten, Terry Collins (now Gandalf). She was such a helpful little big foster sister 😂 just look at her teaching Gandalf how to take a few paws from a sibling! I think she thoroughly enjoyed having foster kittens at home. She was very playful, but still gentle and tolerant.

Moosa girl, teaching those little the ropes 💜

This has always been one of my most favorite baby pictures of Moosa! This was when she was only 3.5 months old. Still a tiny little baby 🥹 the lighting is terrible and I can’t explain why, but this has always just been a favorite picture of mine 💜

This is the first ever picture I took of Moosa! She would hide in her litter box at the shelter. She would hiss basically every little breath she exhaled and had airplane ears. I was at the shelter for maybe 2 weeks, so I was brand new to rescue. I distinctly remember asking a coworker “what is wrong with her” (ohhhh the inexperience 😂).

Then a few days later I decided to foster her to try to socialize her and get her to be less scared. Little did I know I’d soon learn what a foster fail is…

It took me 30 days. I did baby steps. First she stayed in a large dog crate in my room only coming out for little bits at a time to not overwhelm her. I blocked off all the areas I could so she couldn’t hide and get stuck. Then gradually as she got more comfortable she was out overnight with me - she would snuggle with me at night. Then no more crate, it was only open if she wanted to go in. Then she was free roamed the whole house. Looking back I had no idea what I was doing, but I’m so proud of younger me for coming up with this whole plan all by myself. It truly helped Moosa slowly get comfortable and open up on her own terms.

I remember it was 30 days specifically. And after 30 days, after some convincing my parents, I was a failure. I officially adopted my little tiny girl 💜

Happy 11th Birthday to my Moosa 🥳

To celebrate her 11th birthday, I’m going to share 11 pictures of her over the next 11 days! So get ready for lots of Moosa!

She has been through every single step of my adult life with me - moves to new places, new jobs, heartbreak, etc. She is my first animal that I adopted all on my own - my first born! When I first adopted her she was an incredibly shy, hissy, scared little kitten. With lots of patience, time and love she turned out to be my snuggly, squeaky little shadow.

I’m so thankful for the 11 years we’ve had together and I can’t wait for the many more 💜

I love you so much my little tiny 🐱

Today is national hug your cat day! Of course when I got home from work I scooped both Moosa and Nanny up and gave them a good little squeeze 🐱 I don’t need an excuse to pick them up, but if I did, today is the day!

My dad and his best friend, the fuzzy little void, Bitty 🖤 this is a picture from a few weeks ago after the got home from a weeks long visit to see us in Florida!

How CUTE are they?! Bitty was a little tiny kitten living across the street at an old house in my neighborhood. What started out as just being fed across the street, turned in to being fed at my parents house, to having a whole outdoor set up, to becoming the queen of the house.

Bitty simply loves my dad (of course my mom too). She showed up though right around when my dad retired a few years ago and the rest is history.

Two little peas in a pod 🐱

Would anyone be interested in participating in a Purrfect Pitters 5k fundraiser?

It would be in person and virtual so people from all over could join. It would also be a run or walk, whichever people would prefer to do!

I want to see who would be interested that way I’ll know to keep brainstorming and actually start planning!

So if you would be interested in participating, please let me know 🐱
