πΎ A Message from the SPCA of Brazoria County πΎ
We want to take a moment to talk about something we've unfortunately seen several times recently.
Over the past two weeks, puppies, kittens, and adult dogs have been left at our shelter during the early morning and late-night hours. Some have been tied to fences or left in carriers on our property.
While we understand that people sometimes face difficult circumstances, abandoning animals in this way can put their lives at risk. Animals left outside may be exposed to extreme temperatures, wildlife, injury, stress, or medical emergencies before staff arrive. Young puppies and kittens are especially vulnerable.
The SPCA of Brazoria County is here to serve both the animals and people of our community. We are a judgment-free organization, and if you are struggling to care for a pet, please reach out to us. Our team may be able to provide resources, guidance, temporary solutions, or help you explore available options.
You do not have to face these situations alone.
If you need assistance with a pet, please contact us before making the decision to leave an animal unattended at our shelter. Together, we can work toward a safer outcome for both pets and their families.
Thank you for helping us keep the animals of Brazoria County safe. β€οΈ
