Hopeful Good News!

Kimmy Gibbler, an approx. 6-7 mo old SUPER friendly girl had visitors this morning who first met her at the open house a couple of Saturdays ago, put in their app, and came to visit her!

Kimmy has had nothing but bad luck up until now...first being trapped and arriving at the pound looking as if she'd been on the losing end of a brawl, but sweet and purring non-stop nonetheless!

She would likely have gone home sooner, but then she wound up with a cold and had to stay to finish her meds. But I can tell you that this morning Kimmy looked a hundred times better than when I saw her a few days ago, and she was excitedly showing off for her visitors (and soon-to-be moms!) and they will be back for her as soon as she is ready to go!

I will let you know when it's officially official, but decided to share this upcoming good news because...well, I think we can use all the good news we can get!

:)

(PS: special thanks to Kimmy's new fam for being so patient! She will be worth the wait!)

A special request from our Lenny Boy.💙
Lenny was wondering if you could help out his friend, Harley, and give her a share.

Lenny knows how important shares are and that Harley's people just haven't found her yet. 🤍

Please share Harley girl! 💗
THANK YOU!

Sweet Harley is pure love who is STILL looking for her person 🥺

This 5 year old velcro dog will follow you everywhere, greet you with literal bear hugs (yes, she stands on her back legs! 🐻), and zoom around the yard like her life depends on it , then curl up on her favorite blanket like the couch potato queen she also is.

Harley's owner can no longer give her the time and attention she deserves. This sweet girl currently spends up to 12 hours a day in her crate, and honestly? She deserves more!

She's smart, affectionate, housebroken, fully vetted, and ready to be someone's whole entire shadow.

Harley's dream home includes:
🐾A devoted human who's got time for her big personality
🐾A fenced yard (or long lead!) to burn that zoomie energy
🐾Older kids and a single pet household as she plays enthusiastically and doesn't always know her own size 😄

She's not just looking for a home. She's looking for a bestie ❤️

One of the Outlaw Boys...

Handsome Ransom!

This silly boy is one of the many Outlaw Cats, all trapped at the same location in town last October.

He finally Greg Brady-ed his way into his OWN ROOM (cage) several weeks ago, where he spends most of his time meowing at anyone who will listen! He's still a little cautious about being touched, but he won't hesitate to take any treats you wish to offer him! He gets along great with other cats (judging by how he got along with his brothers Alibi, Clue and even Warrant!) and all he needs is a home where he can learn more about interacting with people!

If you have a little patience to spare for Ransom, and preferably another cat for him to buddy up with, you should come and meet him! :)

Here is the pre-adopt form if you might be interested:
https://jefferson.seamlessdocs.com/f/preadopt

You can walk-in to see the cats on a weekday between 8-noon.

Or send a DM to this page for a weekend visit!

The two nicest boys currently sharing the Rumpus Room at the pound, Matcha and Jagger.

They have been there for a very long time. All the other cats who were in there with them have gone home long ago.

They really are friendly once they get to know you! You can see Jagger in this pic sitting right up by the door, which is in the office as soon as you walk in! Matcha is a little more cautious, but you can see him there in the back peeking out! Matcha has also come up to me for pets, but not every time. Jagger usually comes up right away :)

The Rumpus Room is really more of a large walk-in closet than a "cattery." But it's much better than a cage, that's for sure, so no one is complaining. Still, it's not a place any cat wants to be for month after month.

Come visit!

Here's some great news for a very longtime resident at the pound, one whose video I just posted yesterday...

This morning, Stevie Nicks flew out of the pound like a White-Winged Dove into her brand-new Foster-to-Adopt home!

Please join me in hoping that Stevie does great and soon becomes officially adopted! Send her all your best thoughts!

You can do it, Stevie! We believe in you!!!

Thank you to Stevie's new "foster mom" for giving her this chance. She has been waiting SO VERY LONG!

🚨 PLEASE STOP "RESCUING" FAWNS 🚨
We know your heart is in the right place.
Every spring, kind and caring people come across a tiny fawn lying quietly alone in the grass and assume it's been abandoned. The urge to help is completely understandable.
But the truth is...
That fawn is almost certainly exactly where it's supposed to be.
Mother deer intentionally leave their babies hidden for long periods while they feed nearby. The fawn's job is to stay still, stay quiet, and wait. Mom's job is to stay away until it's safe to return.
Unfortunately, we see the heartbreaking consequences of unnecessary "rescues" every year.
Healthy fawns are taken from the wild and brought to rehabilitators dehydrated, stressed, malnourished, injured from improper handling, or suffering from aspiration after being fed the wrong things. Some don't survive the stress alone. Others lose the chance to be raised by the one creature best equipped to care for them—their mother.
If a fawn is curled up quietly, appears alert, and has no obvious injuries, please leave it alone.
Do not touch it.
Do not feed it.
Do not move it.
Do not pose for photos with it.
The greatest act of kindness is often doing nothing at all.
However, if the fawn is continuously crying for hours, wandering aimlessly, covered in flies, visibly injured, weak, or has ears that are curled and dehydrated, then it's time to contact a licensed wildlife rehabilitator immediately.
Please help us spread the word. Share this post. Talk to your friends and neighbors.
Every fawn that stays with its mother has the best possible chance at life.
Sometimes the best rescue... is no rescue at all. 🦌❤️

A Lenny update.💗

We don't quite have the words to express how truly thankful we are for choosing a boy so deserving, patient, forgiving, and loving. Thank you for giving Lenny the most wonderful life he could have ever imagined. (And a special Thank You to Niko too- thank you for leading your Momma to our Lenny)🙏💙

FROM HIS MOMMA😁😍🥰

I fall deeper in love w this boi daily. He is literally snoring while I’m doing my homework. Again, I do NOT ever pose him. He is very skilled in the art of pillow placement and wolf relaxation.
Thanks to all the people who nudged me saying “I think he’d be a great addition to your family” when you saw the constant ads from Jefferson Twp Municipal Pound- Volunteer- Run Page. And then saw ads from West Milford Animal Shelter Society when he was transferred up there.
And, thank you to especially to my sweet Niko, who many feel made this connection possible for me to find Lenny💗.
Once again, my heart is full of Husky hair & Husky attitude…We all have “our breed” & Huskies will forever be mine.
Thank you Big Len. Momma loves you💗
Wanna play fetch later?🎾
