🌈🐾 Until we meet again…
We aren’t even sure where to begin. We rescued Greyson from the Orange County Animal Shelter on 7/24/2018, listed as “rescue only” due to lameness. What that lameness meant, we didn’t know.
The moment he was pulled, he was taken straight to our vet. After extensive diagnostics, we received the heartbreaking news: Greyson had Tetralogy of Fallot, a rare congenital heart defect involving four simultaneous structural abnormalities. It causes oxygen‑poor blood to circulate through the body instead of the lungs.
The bad news? There was no treatment, no surgery, no miracle that could save him. We were told he might have 1–2 years to live. So we made a decision, Greyson would become one of our sanctuary dogs, and we would give him the best life possible for however long he had.
That was in 2018.
Here we are, almost eight years later, and Greyson finally let us know it was time. A compassionate veterinarian came to his foster home and helped him pass peacefully, wrapped in the loving arms of the foster mom who adored him, cared for him, and gave him the life he deserved.
He was a good boy.
We will miss you, Greyson, and we are grateful you allowed us all these years to love you. Your foster mom will miss you deeply, but she knows you are no longer suffering.
Run free, sweet boy.
Run free from the difficulties and pain you endured.
We will miss you always.
RIP Greyson 🌈🐾🌈🐾
