Claws 'N' Paws is a private zoo in the heart of Lake Ariel. It's often called "the zoo in the woods" because of it's woodland setting. We are open May until mid-late October. Throughout the day there are a number of keeper-lead activities, many of which are designed to give the public a closer interaction with our animals. Lory parrot feedings and turtle town are some of our favorites

s run entirely by our keepers. All the photos, updates and stories are from the keepers who work with these animals every day. We love our animals very much and know that many of you care about them too and we cant wait to share their lives with you. Keep in touch over the winter too. Although you may not be able to come and visit them yourself, we promise to keep you updated and post lots of pictures of all your favorites. If you have any questions we'd be more than happy to answer them and would love to see all the great pictures you've taken too. If you have a favorite animal that you'd like to see more of, just let us know and we will do our best.

Today we celebrate National Black Bear Day.

It was founded as a way to celebrate America's most common bear as well as to dispell the myths that surround them! Black bears are found in about 41 out of the 50 states. They also don't just come in Black. They can even come in shades such as cinnamon, blue/black, blue/Grey, and sometimes even white!
