Dallas made such good progress in six weeks. From only being halter broke to now loping circles under saddle.

I was able to get Yoki and baby Ben out and about off the farm. Both horses loaded, hauled, and rode good in a new place.

Flekka is an almost solid white black splash tobiano Icelandic horse, born 7/16/2023. She is friendly, curious, and loves attention. Her sire is Seifur frá Háleggsstöðum and her dam is Brynja from Northstar. She carries at least one copy of splash white and tobiano. Her sire and dam are both about 13.1, I expect her to finish around the same height. She is currently right at 13HH. 

Flekka has spent the last three weeks being ridden under saddle. She has done exceptionally well and has been easy to get started. Flekka is easy to catch, gets along well with other horses in the pasture, she ties,  bathes, good for the Farrier,  loads and unload in the trailer.  She is not real spooky and is pretty confident under saddle, usually has a calm, cool and collective demeanor.

A short clip of Yoki trotting around the outdoor while a storm blows in…I had to go inside because it got nasty out, very quickly.

This is the same horse that you could NOT ride 60 days ago, the same horse that would turn into a bronc if you even acted like you were going to step into the stirrup.

Scarlett really proved herself this past weekend! Her first full weekend show and she was perfect! She penned out perfectly for two nights, she ran really consistent against some great horses with both her owner and myself. Tenley ran a 16.895 on her Friday, I ran a 16.809 on Saturday and Sunday she was a 16.711, all three runs being less than 2 second off the winning times.

Saturday night I also ran glow in the dark barrels on her and she was a rockstar for that!

Less than 60 days ago this mare was unwilling, didn’t want to work, and the same horse we had to reschedule her drop off to me because she wouldn’t get in the trailer! She has completely turned around and I am so excited to watch her and Tenley continue to grow as a team!

Day 1, was the first day with a saddle on and we did some lunging. He did really well!

I do still have a few spots available for training in the next couple of months. Now is a great time to get those colts started and work them through the fall so they can have the winter off to process and mature some. It is very common to get the 2 and 3 year olds going and then turn them out for a bit!

Tenley and Scarlett’s first competition run together, Scarlett’s second show ever, and they ran in the 3D with over 120 entries. Scarlett has been with me for about 6 weeks and been on the barrels about 3. Tenley has done 3 lessons with me on Scarlett. I’m so proud of this team, and between the two of them there is so much talent here!
