We’ve spent the last month traveling around to different clinics. The knowledge gained has been invaluable. While I’m bummed that this time is coming to an end, I’m looking forward to going home and putting everything into practice until next spring when we can hit the road and I can work with my mentors once again.

Day 3 cow work with Buck!
My biggest take aways are:
1. Don’t go in there making the horse work the cow. Let them make the choice to.
2. Once they peel one off, you’re not cutting the cow, you’re stopping the cow. If the horse learns that when they position themselves to stop and hold the cow they get a reward and rest, then they work their butt off for you to get into that position!

If you guys want me to share more of what I learned, let us know! We can work on putting something together!

Day 2 of cow work with Buck. Galla has been on cows plenty of times, but Buck showed the way to make the horse WANT to work the cow instead of MAKING the horse work the cow. What a change in a short amount of time! She turned into a monster for it this afternoon!

You don’t have to be local to be our customer!

This 2 year old quarter horse came to us all the way from North Dakota. She’s not the first to come from several states away! We enjoy working with people all over the U.S.
