🐱 In honor of International Cat Day, we need to know: what’s your cat’s funniest habit? 😹

Do they sprint through the house at 2 AM? Sit in boxes way too small? Knock things off counters while making direct eye contact?

Let's see a photo! And tell us your cat’s most iconic behavior!

Every cat has their own personality when it comes to affection.

Some love being held, some tolerate it for a few seconds, and others prefer to keep all four paws firmly on the ground. Paying attention to your cat's body language is the best way to know when they're comfortable.

So...which answer best describes your cat? Tell us your answer in the comments!

Just like us, pets need preventative care. Annual blood tests are one of the most important tools we have to keep your pet healthy and catch issues early.

Here's what we're checking:

🩸Complete Blood Count (CBC): Checks red & white blood cells, platelets. Detects infections, anemia, and clotting issues.

🩸Blood Chemistry Panel: Tests kidney function, liver health, blood sugar levels, and electrolytes. Catches early diabetes, kidney disease, and liver problems.

🩸 Thyroid Screening: Senior pets, especially thyroid issues, are common and very treatable once diagnosed.

Why it matters: Early detection = better outcomes + lower treatment costs. A seemingly healthy pet can have hidden issues that bloodwork reveals.

Questions about your pet's results? We're here to explain everything.

For most dogs, nail trims are needed every 3–4 weeks, but the ideal schedule depends on how quickly their nails grow and how much they naturally wear them down.

If you hear your dog's nails clicking on the floor, it's usually a sign they're ready for a trim. Keeping nails at a healthy length helps prevent discomfort, joint strain, and broken nails.

While cats are descended from desert animals, today's house cats still rely on you to help keep them safe during hot weather.

Cats have limited ways to cool themselves. Unlike people, they only sweat through their paw pads and rely on grooming (evaporative cooling) to lower their body temperature. If they begin panting, they're already struggling to cool down, and it shouldn't be ignored.

Help your cat stay safe by keeping them indoors during the hottest parts of the day, providing plenty of fresh water, and making sure they always have access to cool, shaded areas.

Heat exhaustion and heat stroke are closely related, but knowing the difference can save your pet’s life 🌡️🐾

Heat-related illness moves fast. The sooner you recognize the signs and start cooling or seek veterinary care, the better the outcome for your pet’s health.

Stay alert this summer. Act quickly. Protect your pet.

Yes. Biting is a normal part of kitten development. Kittens use play to learn about their environment and develop bite inhibition. While it may not feel very gentle, this is an important part of growing up.

The best approach is to redirect biting toward appropriate toys and avoid encouraging play with your hands or fingers.

With consistency and patience, most kittens outgrow this stage and learn to play more gently. If you have questions about your kitten's behavior, we're happy to help. Call us at (337) 456-8010.
