🐾 FOSTER FRIDAY: SCOOBY-DOOBY-DOO!🐾

Zoinks! Scooby has been waiting for her very own Mystery Machine to take her home, and we think it's about time this girl solved the mystery of where her forever family is hiding!

Meet Scooby (A126363), a 1-year-and-3-month-old German Shepherd/Staffy mix who has been rocking the foster life for just over a month! Scooby came to us as an owner surrender when her previous family had too many animals. Now she's ready to find the family who will give her the love, attention, and adventures she deserves!

Here's what her foster has to say about life with Scooby:
-Potty trained AND crate trained!
-Knows “kennel” and “lay down,” and comes when called at home.
-Super playful and affectionate. She's a dog's dog who loves having friends to play with!
-Gets along with other animals, but her enthusiastic play style may be a little too much for cats and smaller dogs.

Scooby can be a little timid when faced with sudden sights or sounds, so she'll appreciate a family who can help her build confidence while keeping life fun!

Scooby's dream home has a decent-sized yard, daily walks, plenty of enrichment, and ideally some medium-to-large canine siblings who can keep up with her playful energy!

When you hear “Prada,” you normally think high-end, expensive, and maybe even unobtainable for some of us... But this Prada is a little different!

At just 2 years old, this gorgeous brindle pittie came to us as a stray from Pearl River, and she's ready to trade shelter life for the luxury of a loving forever home. No designer price tag required! Just a family who will love her, spoil her, and remind her every day that she's worth more than gold. She gets along well with other pups, but we also think she'd thrive being the only pup in the home.

🐾Adoption Spotlight: Davie

Meet one of the most playful pups at STPAS! Davie is a 9-month-old Labrador Retriever mix who would carry a toy around all day, everyday if you let him! This boy’s upbeat personality is so impressive, considering he came into our care through MedVet as a stray with an injured leg. As we nursed him back to health, we also had to treat him for ‘happy tail’. Even through the painful injury, he was wagging and slapping that tail against his kennel walls so hard!! Now, both his leg and tail are healed and Davie is ready for adoption 💙🩵

ADOPTION SPOTLIGHT: Greta

Hey there! My name is Greta and the staff here believe I am about 5 years old. Not to brag, but if STPAS had a beauty contest, a lot of people would vote for me as the prettiest girl around! I’m a very friendly, outgoing tortie who has been in a home before and loves being around people and other animals. I have been dealing with a really bad skin infection that has kept me itchy but other than that, I am as healthy as can be! I love being pet by people who come here and visit me! I don’t mind being brushed or snuggled either.

My greatest wish in life is to once again be an indoor, family pet and I’d be so grateful if you gave me that opportunity. I’ll be here waiting to meet you in the meantime 🙏

💚💛🧡Barktober Fest at Magnolia Park is this Saturday!

STPAS will be joining the fun in Folsom with a doggie & family friendly free event! Some of our adoptable pups will be attending to hopefully find some loving homes. Anyone and everyone are invited - even your own doggo (leashed please!).
As always, adoption fees are discounted at our off-site events! All dogs come fixed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and prevention, as well as Heartworm Treatment if the pup is positive.

Two Very Special Girls 🐾✨ Meet Mazey & Tofu!

We have two extraordinary and gorgeous young ladies in our care who prove that a little extra uniqueness just means a whole lot of extra love. Both Mazey and Tofu are seeking loving, indoor-only homes where their special quirks are celebrated!

🐾 MAZEY (1 Year Old | Seal Point Tabby) Mazey was originally living outdoors, but life outside wasn’t safe for her. Mazey isn't fully coordinated on her feet, so returning as an outdoor community cat wasn't an option. Today, she is safe, comfortable, and thriving indoors! She may wobble a bit when she walks, but that doesn't slow her down from enjoying life.

🐾 TOFU (7 Months Old | Domestic Longhair) Tofu is a fluffy, sweet pie with a big heart. After experiencing complications during her spay surgery, Tofu was left with brain damage and is mostly blind. Despite her rough start, Tofu is full of love! She is a huge fan of friendly dogs, though she does get frightened by other cats and needs to be the only feline in her home.

The Details on Both Sweethearts:
🏠 Indoor-Only: Due to their neurological needs and Tofu's vision impairment, both girls must live strictly indoors to stay safe.
🚽 Litter Box Champs: Both Mazey and Tofu use the litter box like total pros!

Special-needs pets often make the absolute best companions—they show us so much trust, resilience, and gratitude every single day.

Finances are one of the main reasons we are seeing animals surrendered to our shelter. One way to combat that directly is keeping our Pet Pantry stocked for those in need - so no animal goes hungry!

Cher’s journey to us started on a really tough note. Our animal control officers stepped in to help her during a terrifying, distressed birth that sadly claimed her puppies. It was a heartbreaking chapter, but Cher proved just how resilient she is. She has healed, put that painful past behind her, and is completely ready for a fresh start.
