Brian recently completed an evaluation with our training staff and, while he did not meet the specific criteria required for our Police K9 Detection Program, he is still an outstanding dog who deserves an equally outstanding home.

What does that mean? It means Brian is looking for an active family or individual who can provide him with the exercise, structure, attention, and adventure he craves. He is affectionate, energetic, intelligent, and eager to be part of someone's everyday life.

⚠️ Please understand: Brian is NOT a couch potato. He is a young, high-drive Shepherd who will thrive with regular exercise, mental stimulation, and an owner committed to keeping him engaged and active.

🐕‍🦺🚔 K9 Apprehension Success 🚔🐕‍🦺

On May 31, 2026, at approximately 3:58 a.m., Officer White and K9 Fury, along with Officer Blanscett, responded to the 8400 block of Greenham to assist the Bexar County Sheriff's Office in locating a suspect wanted for aggravated assault.

After an extensive search, K9 Fury successfully tracked and led officers to the suspect, who had fled over a fence and concealed himself in the backyard of a nearby residence. Thanks to the team's persistence, training, and teamwork, the suspect was located, surrendered without incident, and was safely taken into custody.

This apprehension is particularly noteworthy as Officer White and K9 Fury have been deployed as a team for only three months. Despite being early in their K9 careers, this marks their second criminal apprehension this week, a remarkable achievement that reflects their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to protecting our community.

San Benito Police Department’s K9 Ghost has received donation of body armor

San Benito Police Department, TX - K9 Ghost has received a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a charitable donation from non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. K9 Ghost’s vest was sponsored by Rebecca Perez of Colton, CA and embroidered with the sentiment “This gift of protection provided by Vested Interest in K9s, Inc.”.

Vested Interest in K9s, Inc., established in 2009, is a 501(c)(3) charity whose mission is to provide bullet and stab protective vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies throughout the United States. This potentially lifesaving body armor for four-legged K9 officers is U.S. made, custom fitted, and National Institute of Justice (NIJ) certified. Since its inception, Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. has provided over 6,513 vests valued at $6.9 million to K9s in all 50 states, made possible by both private and corporate donations.

The program is open to U.S. dogs at least 20 months old and actively employed and certified with law enforcement or related agencies. K9s with expired vests are also eligible to participate. There are an estimated 30,000 law enforcement K9s throughout the United States.

Vested Interest in K9s, Inc., accepts tax-deductible contributions in any amount, while a single donation of $1,050 will sponsor one vest. With Classes 2026-C and 2026-D now nearing full capacity, JIREH K9 Training Academy is officially opening registration for our next upcoming Police K9 Handlers Course scheduled for October 5th–16th, 2026.

Law enforcement agencies from across America have already secured their seats in training and claimed their Police K9 Grants through our nationally recognized Police K9 Grant Program.
