I've been really sick this past, since I haven't taken any videos - I'd like to post a flashback post to some of my first graduates when I started training at the resort. I miss each and every dog that I've worked with, hopefully they are off doing awesome things.

I'm a little late on my Happy New Year 2024 but I wanted to post a throw back photo to my favorite 2023 photos that I took. I'm hoping that future plans allow me to go back to having fun photo booths but for now, here is my 10 favorite previous year photos.
Happy 2024!

Just a little throwback of a video I did a few years ago with my dog professional friends. 2 of my own dogs are in this video, although Wynona, my GSD isn't here with us anymore. This video was fun to make and is full of beautiful dogs. This is one of the benefits of practicing sit/stays and down/stays with your dogs.

Hey guys! This is my new puppy Nyx, she is 3/4 GSD and 1/4 Border Collie. She is 11 weeks old now and was 8 weeks when we got her so you know we have been busy potty training. I wanted to post my routine and set up with her so you have an idea of how I potty train my puppies.
I've gotten a piece of Fake Turf Grass and for a bottom catch tray, I used the bottom part of a kennel that I no longer use. You can use anything with an edge for a catch tray, a small edge can help keep your turf from sliding around. I put puppy pads underneath the turf so it helps soak up the urine and makes cleaning much easier. I have at least 2 pieces of turf so that one can be washed and hung to dry while the other is in use. I also change the pads regularly to keep the smell from becoming too noticeable and keep the turf pad in the area that I keep her in.
Since she is 2-3 months old, I take her outside every 2-3 hours or so, depending on the time of day. If we wake up from sleeping in the morning or a nap, we immediately go outside to potty. If Nyx is playing with toys, she goes outside every 20-40 minutes. If she just finished eating, she goes outside within 20-40 minutes and we walk around until she finally does her business. She will usually p*e but if she does not poo, then she goes into a confined area like a kennel or her playpen that has her turf in it. If she is in her playpen then I'm usually supervising her in case she tries to potty and misses her turf. If she has an accident, as soon as possible, I guide her to her turf and tell her to potty on the grass. If she is in her playpen and has not had an accident yet, then i will watch for her to start sniffing the floor. This is usually my sign that she needs to potty and we go outside until she successfully goes potty
When I clean up her mess, I will have them either on leash or in their kennel where they can watch me clean it and I always make sure I have a solution that helps eliminate the urine enzymes. If the enzymes aren't broken down, the smell will remain for the dogs and possibly be a reason your dog likes to potty in a specific area. I like to use Odoban

Hello all! 👋 I just wanted to put something out to address my absence (this is for all of my social media accounts, business, personal, and entertainment). This past year has been one of the worst years of my life because I suddenly lost my 2 year old puppy, Wynona. I bottle fed her when she was rejected by her mother, created the closest bond with a dog I've ever had, then suddenly lost her when her health rapidly and mysteriously declined in less than a day's time. I don't want to share details of her last moments or how we struggled for the rest of the day and following day to get her body in trusted hands to memorialize her. Everything was extremely traumatic for me and I will feel guilty for the rest of my life about everything.

I thought I would be able to deal with it better as time went on but that was far from true and it seems like it's only gotten harder and harder. I can't look at pictures or videos, I can hardly talk about her.. every time I think about her, it hurts and everything reminds me of her. It has been extremely difficult to get online and see videos of dogs and see things that she used to do. Every day I feel like I lose her all over again.

So.. I've been trying to stay away from social media, the Internet and my phone for a while for my mental health. Just know that I am still here, Sarah is still here and we are still training dogs, frosting cakes and selling freeze dried candy. We have been just staying extremely busy and trying our best to not have emotional breakdowns on the daily. I promise we will try to be more active online. We have taken in a puppy recently, so I will need to introduce her to you all soon and show her adventures and training progress!

It has been a long and quiet few weeks from me- we have been busy and needed some space from the every day hustle and bustle as well as technology. In our time away, we went to Austin to relax and explore, did some training with family dogs and met some precious puppies!
My dog, Sarah, had a great time exploring the city of Austin, tasting new treats, meeting new people and floating the river. When you keep working with your dog, their opportunities to do more expand. Don't limit the fun you can have with your dog- hard work pays off!

My name is Danielle Hawkins. I have worked with dogs for my entire life. As a child, my parents and my grandparents were involved with greyhounds and greyhound racing. Regardless of opinion on the sport, I was a child and all I wanted to do was pet, play with and run with these dogs. I LOVED them and grew up caring for them for years.
When I got out of high school,I got my degree in Life Sciences while working for a Pet Resort where I met Layna Bishop (now Quiner). Layna had started Red Bluff University and helped me get started as a Dog Trainer alongside her. A few years later when Layna stepped away to start a family, I stayed until my 7th Year.
During my time training, I've attended several seminars including Cheri Wolff Lucas' Train the Trainer Mentorship and Lucas-Agnew workshops with Brain Agnew. I'm always looking for new ways to learn new methods or reshape methods that I've been using. I love to continue learning and interacting with other Dog Trainers.
Out on my own, I hope to be able to build a quality companionship between Human and Dog bas on trust and fulfillment. A stable relationship isn't built overnight, neither is confidence. A bond with a dog is built with time and respect from both parties and I want to help others achieve a strong friendship with their fur friends.
