🐾 How Often Should My Dog Be Groomed? 🐾
First things first…
📅 We are booking up quickly!
If you’d like your preferred day, time, and groomer, we highly recommend scheduling your pup’s next appointment at pickup. Future You will be thankful. 😉
Now for one of our most frequently asked questions:
🐶 “How often should my dog be groomed?”
The answer depends on your dog’s coat, lifestyle, and just how much dog hair you’re willing to wear.
✂️ Haircut Breeds
(Shih Tzus, Schnauzers, Doodles, Poodles, Havanese, Cavachons, and similar breeds)
We recommend every 4–8 weeks.
✨ Keeping your dog longer and fluffy? Aim for 4–6 weeks.
✨ Keeping them short and low-maintenance? 6–8 weeks usually works great.
Remember: the longer the coat, the more important regular grooming becomes!
🛁 Bath & Brush Breeds
(Golden Retrievers, Australian Shepherds, Great Pyrenees, Saint Bernards, etc.)
These coats typically do best every 4–10 weeks.
Regular bathing, brushing, and trimming help prevent mats, reduce shedding, and keep those coats healthy and beautiful.
🐺 The Professional Shedders
(German Shepherds, Huskies, and other dogs that seem to produce a second dog worth of hair every week)
Let’s see these guys every 4–8 weeks.
A regular grooming schedule helps keep the fur tumbleweeds from taking over your home. No promises, but we’ll do our best. 😆
🐕 Short-Haired Breeds
(Labs, Heelers, Pointers, Frenchies, Pit Bulls, Bulldogs, and more)
Just because they don’t need haircuts doesn’t mean they don’t need grooming!
We recommend every 4–12 weeks for baths, nail trims, ear cleaning, and skin and coat maintenance.
✨ Healthy skin.
✨ Clean coats.
✨ Short nails.
✨ Less shedding.
That’s a win for everyone.
At the end of the day, every dog is different. If you’re unsure what schedule is best for your pup, we’re always happy to help create a grooming plan that fits their needs.
🐾 Your dog may not know they’re due for a groom… but your vacuum probably does.
