We are so excited to host Iron Rose Academy for their ponying and outriding clinic! For anybody interested in the industry and wants to learn from some of the best, this clinic is right for you!

We’re excited to officially announce a brand-new Iron Rose Academy clinic with experienced outrider Darrin Cain! 🐎🌹

On September 26–27, we’ll be at HighPointe Training Center in La Grange, Kentucky for a two-day, hands-on Ponying & Outriding Clinic designed to give riders practical experience in a realistic training environment.

Saturday will focus heavily on ponying — picking up and releasing horses, positioning, controlling two horses at once, changing sides, handling difficult situations, and taking those skills from the arena onto the training track.

We’ll also begin working through outriding concepts including track awareness, positioning, communication, assisting riders, and recognizing when and how to step into a developing situation.

Sunday will take those skills even further with practical outriding scenarios and a more realistic track environment where participants can work through situations involving strong horses, riders needing assistance, pony people needing help, and other scenarios an outrider may encounter.

We’re also adding an optional galloping portion for riders who are interested and appropriately experienced, giving participants another opportunity to get onto the training track and work on pace, position, control, and track awareness.

📍 HighPointe Training Center — La Grange, KY
📅 Saturday, September 26 — 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
📅 Sunday, September 27 — 8:00 AM–12:00 PM
🎟️ $150 — includes both days

Space will be limited so everyone has plenty of hands-on time with the horses.

If ponying, outriding, galloping, or simply becoming a more capable racetrack horseman is something you’ve wanted to develop, this weekend is for you.

We all see the trainers, grooms, and exercise riders, but the farriers also have such a huge role in these horses’ lives! 🐎

Thank you to our farriers who always take the time to talk to us and answer questions during tours!

We 🤍 our pasture time 🐎

One of the best parts about training at HighPointe is our abundant, quiet turnout space. We offer paddocks of all different sizes; whether you have a larger herd that spends most of their time outside, or just a baby or two that likes to relax under the moonlight, we have the space for you!
