The last baby chick hatched today….with a little help from Aliza and Leche….our dog.

We had a couple hens escape from our regular flock and go broody! Funny enough there are two hens sharing a clutch of eggs and have hatched out about a dozen baby chicks this spring! Aliza is their dula. She brings them food and water and checks on them often throughout the day.

All the action is in the greenhouse these days! Our friend Kathy still loves coming to help in the greenhouse on Monday mornings for a few hours even after 14 years! I love having friends like Kathy who inspire me. I hope that when I’m in my 80’s I’m still working in the greenhouse every spring too!
