Kim was the bravest of all the 8 Diamond Hill Competitors at ASCA Nationals walking into the Sheep arena for the first time. Unfortunately, Jamie couldn’t be there as we have 5 week old puppies.
A big round of applause to her and Fenton and so very close to qualifying on the biggest sheep either of them has ever seen!

Agility:
we struggled quite a bit, Fenton has never competed on grass and had a lot of ring stress for several days. Last year, I entered him in a lot of CPE agility events to help him with his ring stress, and it definitely helped. This year I dropped the ball and he has barely competed at all, and the difference was very noticeable. But we worked thru it, and had a lot of REALLY close runs, and he consistently nailed the challenging and difficult parts of the run.
In the pre-trials, Fenton consistently earned 1 qualifying open jumpers run each day, placing 2nd twice, and 3rd
At the Nationals trial, Fenton placed 3rd in his Open Gamblers run, earning his GS-O title! And then he placed 1st in open jumpers!
Scent work:
Fenton knocked it out of the park. He had 2 novice runs in the pretrial, and 2 novice and 2 open runs in the national trial.
He qualified on all 6 runs he had and earned his SCNv and SCNc titles, completing his SCN4 title!
Herding:
I was crazy this year and decided that I was going to participate in MVA. Thank you a thousand times over to Jamie Hansen for all the instruction, knowledge, patience, and time that you gave helping me prepare and cheering me on! Everyone knows that Nationals is not the place to do your very first stock competition when you're a green handler with a green dog. But I did it anyways •®!! I have not been that nervous in a LONG time. We only entered started sheep, but we met my two goals (1. To not be excused lol 2. Get my dog to down in the arena and not be explosive), and Fenton tried SOOO hard! I could not be any more proud of him! We were SO close to qualifying, and if I were more experienced, we probably would've, but I was all smiles with my score of 64! That’ll do, Fenton
