🐾 Meet KILO 🐾

Today, we’re hoping that Friday is finally Kilo’s lucky day.

For FOUR YEARS, Kilo has called the shelter home. That’s over 1,460 days of watching other dogs leave with their families while he patiently waits for someone to choose him.

When Kilo first arrived, he was scared, uncertain, and didn’t know who he could trust. But through the love and dedication of shelter staff, volunteers, and the Second Leash on Life Cell Dog Program, Kilo has blossomed into an incredible dog who is ready for a family of his very own.

At 6 years old, Kilo is the perfect age—past the puppy chaos but still full of love, life, and adventure.

Leptospirosis (“Lepto”) is a potentially life-threatening bacterial disease that can affect both dogs and people. It is commonly spread through contaminated water, soil, or urine from infected wildlife such as rats, raccoons, and opossums.

⚠️ Symptoms may include:
• Fever
• Vomiting
• Diarrhea
• Lethargy
• Loss of appetite
• Kidney and liver damage

The good news? Leptospirosis is preventable with vaccination! 💉🐶

If your dog spends time outdoors, walks through puddles, visits dog parks, lives near wildlife, or simply enjoys being a dog, they may be at risk.

💙🐾 A heartfelt thank you to the LaBelle Community Woman's Club 🐾💙

On behalf of everyone at Caloosa Humane Society, we would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to the amazing members of the LaBelle Community Woman’s Club for allowing us to be a part of your event and for selecting our shelter animals as beneficiaries of your generosity.

We are truly humbled and amazed by the incredible turnout, the generous monetary donation, and the overwhelming amount of food, treats, toys, and supplies that were collected for our shelter pets. The support shown by this community is a beautiful reminder that our animals are surrounded by people who care deeply about their well-being.

Every dollar donated and every item received will directly help us provide food, medical care, comfort, enrichment, and love to the dogs and cats waiting for their forever homes. 🎟️🐾 TICKET OUT THURSDAY 🐾🎟️

Today we’re featuring a very special shelter resident who is still waiting for his ticket out… 💔

🧸💕 MEET DUKE 💕🧸

Duke has been waiting for OVER A YEAR for someone to choose him.

At just 2 years old, this 70-pound sweetheart has so much love to give and absolutely no idea why he keeps getting overlooked. Every day, he watches other dogs leave for their forever homes while he patiently waits for his turn.

Duke recently graduated from the Second Leash on Life Cell Dog Program, a partnership between Caloosa Humane Society and the Moore Haven Correctional and Rehabilitation Facility. 🎓🐕

This handsome boy comes with all the basics already mastered:

✅ Housebroken
✅ Crate trained
✅ Walks beautifully on a leash
✅ Knows sit, down, stay, and come
✅ AKC Good Canine Citizen test-ready

But his best qualities can’t be taught…

❤️ Loves belly rubs
❤️ Great with other dogs

❤️ Knows how to roll over
❤️ Affectionate, loyal, and eager to please
❤️ A giant teddy bear who just wants a family to love

Duke isn’t looking for anything fancy. Just a comfy bed, a few toys, some belly rubs, and a family to call his own.

🐾💕 TAIL WAG TUESDAY FEATURE: Meet Addison! 💕🐾

If happiness had four legs and a wagging tail, her name would be Addison! 🥰

This sweet girl is searching for a forever family to call her own. ❤️ Addison is full of love, energy, and personality. Her favorite things? Tennis balls, toys, running outside, giving kisses, and soaking up all the attention she can get! 🎾🐶

She can sprint like the wind chasing her favorite ball and then come right back for hugs and cuddles. Addison is the perfect mix of playful and loving. 💕

Some men can be a little scary to her at first, so she may need a little time to build trust. She would do wonderfully with a female owner or a patient family willing to let her warm up at her own pace. Once she trusts you, you’ll have a loyal best friend for life. ❤️
