Bullet here! I have a little favor to ask…

We’re running low on laundry detergent and Dawn dish soap at the shelter!

If you could donate a bottle (or two 😉), it would help keep our shelter clean and fresh for all my furry friends!

Thank you for helping us take care of our shelter!

Love, Bullet

☀️ It may have been a hot one yesterday, but that didn’t stop our pups from having SO much fun at playgroups!

Every playgroup session gives our pups the perfect mix of exercise, enrichment, and socialization, all while making new friends and having the best time!

Happy, social, tired pups = a successful playgroup!

Paws & Learn: Barrier Reactivity

Dogs get frustrated just like we do as people except they can’t talk to us or express this frustration in ways we can. One of the main ways they have to show their frustration is to bark.
Often times especially in a shelter setting dogs become frustrated from not being able to see, sniff, play or love on people or other dogs. This means you may see some dogs barking and jumping around in their kennels when you walk through.

Please don’t skip past these dogs when considering ones for adoption! Often times these are some of our sweetest or most playful dogs but they’re just feeling a little frustrated. Once they are outside they are totally different dogs!

Barrier reactivity like this doesn’t just happen in shelters. Common examples would be your dog barking through your fence at strangers or the dog being walked by its owner barking at the squirrel it sees down the street.

🐾 Meet Dakota!

Dakota is a 7 year old neutered male who needs a patient person willing to earn his trust. He may need more than one visit to feel comfortable, but once he knows you, he is affectionate, friendly, and loving.

Dakota is a perfect example of why we shouldn’t judge a dog by what we see behind the kennel door.

He would do best in an adult-only home and likes certain dogs, so a meet and greet is recommended if you have another dog.

WHAT A MONTH! 💛

Our Clear the Shelters special has officially come to an end, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the incredible support from our community!

Together, 266 shelter animals found loving homes!

🐶 78 dogs adopted
🐱 188 cats adopted

A HUGE thank you to everyone who opened their hearts and homes to a shelter animal. Every adoption means a second chance, a new beginning, and a forever family.

And while the special may be over, the need for adoption never ends. Please keep choosing to adopt and remember to check your local shelters and rescues when you’re looking for your next family member. There are always animals waiting for someone to give them a chance!
