TODAY IS National Dog Day is an annual observance dedicated to honoring all dogs, promoting adoption from shelters, and encouraging responsible pet ownership
Founded in 2004 by pet advocate Colleen Paige, the day was inspired by the adoption of her first dog when she was 10 years old
It celebrates the companionship, loyalty, and bravery of dogs while raising awareness about issues such as puppy mills, animal cruelty, and the large number of dogs in need of loving homes. Click on the pictures for the full views.
