⭐️🚨DO NOT SWIPE IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO SEE!!!🚨⭐️

💚Dolly is proof that healing takes time. And it’s worth every step. 💚

Just a few weeks ago, Dolly came to see us after developing a painful corneal ulcer. It was caused by trauma to her eye, such as a scratch. At her initial visit, Dr. Alred and our treatment team numbed Dolly’s eye and performed a corneal debridement, a procedure that removes dead cells around the edges of the ulcer so healthy new cells can grow and heal the defect. With the help of topical antibiotic ointment at home, strict e-collar use, and weekly recheck appointments, Dolly’s eye has made an incredible recovery! 💙

We are absolutely amazed by these before-and-after photos. The first photo was taken on May 29, just three weeks after her initial visit on May 8. The final two photos show what Dolly’s eye looked like when she first came to see us.

We’ve introduced you to sweet Blue before, but today we’d like to share a little more of his story.

Blue first came to see us in August 2025 after his mom noticed his abdomen had become swollen and he wasn’t acting like his usual happy self. After an initial visit to a local emergency hospital, she brought him to us for further evaluation. Through diagnostic testing, including a heartworm test, we confirmed that Blue was positive for Heartworm Disease.

Based on the severity of his condition, Dr. Alred and our treatment team developed a treatment plan tailored specifically to Blue’s needs. Unfortunately, his heartworm infection had already caused complications. Blue was also diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure. Given the extent of his disease, it is very likely that Blue had heartworms before he was adopted by his loving family.

Many people don’t realize that Heartworm Disease isn’t spread directly from pet to pet. It is transmitted through the bite of an infected mosquito, which can pass microscopic heartworm larvae to a pet with just a single bite. That’s why annual heartworm testing and year-round prevention are so important for every dog.

A heartworm diagnosis can feel overwhelming, but Blue has shown us what resilience, patience, and determination truly look like. Heartworm treatment is a long journey that requires months of care, strict activity restriction, and a tremendous commitment from both pets and their families. Through it all, Blue has remained one of the sweetest and happiest patients we have the privilege of caring for.

Today, we’re not only sharing Blue’s story, we’re also celebrating how far he’s come. His progress has been incredible, and his journey is a testament to the difference that a devoted family and dedicated veterinary care can make.

Every visit with Blue reminds us why we love what we do.

Please join us in cheering him on as he continues his journey toward a healthier future. 💙

Cute? Absolutely.
Innocent? The jury’s still out.
Meet Pennywise! She’s of our technician (and resident reptile wrangler) Jordan’s reptiles! She is a mischievous mealworm-loving crested gecko! 🦎💕 She’s one-year-old with a personality that’s larger than life! This stunning red flame Dalmatian may look sweet and innocent, but don’t let that adorable face fool you. Her mischievous side keeps everyone guessing. One moment she’s happily being held, the next she’s decided your finger looks suspicious enough to deserve a bite. When it comes to mealtime, Penny likes to make her own rules. If her mealworms are placed in her enclosure, she’ll treat them more like toys than food. But offer them on feeding tongs? Suddenly they’re the best snack she’s ever seen! One of Penny’s most memorable antics was hiding in the back of her enclosure, patiently waiting for the door to open before launching herself straight into Jordan’s hand. Equal parts chaotic and adorable, that’s Penny in a nutshell. As one of Jordan’s very first reptiles, Pennywise has made a lasting impact. She wasn’t always a fan of handling as a baby, but with patience, trust, and time, she’s blossomed into a gecko who enjoys spending time with her people. Watching her grow from a shy little gecko into the confident girl she is today has made every moment worthwhile. ❤️

Who says veterinary teams only handle wet dogs? 🌧️🐾

Yesterday morning, the VIPets Hardin Station team traded scrubs for life jackets and braved the storm to participate in the 9th Annual Beaver Creek Flotilla! While our CSR had to sit this one out, the rest of the team enjoyed a rainy adventure while supporting a wonderful community event. 💚
