From Puppy Social to the big dog daycare crew! 🐾💚

Meet Blitz, a handsome Giant Schnauzer and one of our newest Bark Dogs!

Blitz started his journey with us in Puppy Social, where he learned how to read other dogs’ social cues, practice appropriate play, and build confidence in a safe, supervised environment.

Now he’s graduated to daycare with the big dogs, and he’s absolutely thriving! We’re seeing all that early learning pay off as Blitz navigates playgroups, makes new friends, and shows off his beautiful social skills.

We can’t emphasize enough how important a strong foundation is for a growing puppy. Socialization isn’t just about meeting other dogs. It’s about learning how to communicate, respect boundaries, regulate excitement, and make good choices during play.

Blitz is a wonderful example of what thoughtful, positive early experiences can do for a puppy’s future.

🐶 Have a puppy at home? Give them the same opportunity to build a strong foundation! Our Puppy Class meets every Saturday from 11 AM–12 PM and focuses on developing essential skills, confidence, and positive social experiences to help set your puppy up for lifelong success.

Classes are just $35, and we’d love to help your puppy get started on the right paw!

We’re so proud of you, Blitz! Welcome to the Bark Family! 💚

💕🐾 THE TWINS’ PINK PAWTY FUR A CAUSE IS THIS WEEKEND! 🎀

We’re getting ready for a very special celebration at The Bark this Sunday, October 18th!

Luna & Maple are turning FOUR, and they’re celebrating with the Knoxville Dog Moms Club by bringing our community together for an afternoon of fun, friendship, and giving back to two incredible local causes.

💗 Supporting Joy of Dawn

At the heart of this event is a fundraising auction benefiting Joy of Dawn, a local nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting women navigating breast cancer diagnosis and treatment right here in East Tennessee. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’re coming together to help make a difference for women in our community.

🐶 Giving Back to the Humane Society, Tennessee Valley

October is also Adopt a Shelter Dog Month! Instead of birthday presents, Luna & Maple are asking guests to bring donations from the Humane Society of the Tennessee Valley’s wishlist. These contributions will help support shelter dogs as they wait to find their forever families.

🎀 Here’s what’s happening at the pawty!

🍻 Snacks and drinks
🐾 $1 pup cups
🫧 Foam party for the dogs
✂️ Free nail trims
🎨 Paw print painting
📸 Photo stations
🛍️ Dog toys, accessories, and local vendors
🍪 Custom dog cookies
🎁 Goodie bags and more!

The fundraising auction closes at 3 PM on Sunday, October 18th, so don’t miss your chance to bid on some incredible items donated by local businesses!

Everyone is welcome, and you do not need to be a Knoxville Dog Moms Club member to attend. The Bark’s regular dog admission requirements apply.

💕 Come celebrate two very loved dogs while helping make a difference for women and shelter animals in our community.

🐾 WE’RE HIRING BARKRANGERS! 🐾

Love dogs, enjoy working with people, and thrive in a fun, fast-paced environment? The Bark is looking for new team members to join our crew!

Position: Part-Time Barkranger
Pay: $13–$15/hour, depending on experience
Shifts Available: Daytime, evenings, and weekends

What does a Barkranger do?

🐶 Supervise daycare and dog park playgroups to keep dogs happy and safe.

🍻 Serve b**r and other beverages to our dog park guests.

🐾 Assist with boarding care, making sure our overnight guests are comfortable and well cared for.

💻 Help at the front desk with check-ins, check-outs, and customer service.

🧹 Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment for dogs and their humans.

Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for dependable, hardworking, and friendly people who genuinely enjoy being around dogs and their humans. Dog handling experience is a big plus, but it’s not required! A willingness to learn, attention to detail, and a team-first attitude are just as important.

Working with dogs is incredibly rewarding, but it’s also an active, hands-on job that requires responsibility, patience, and plenty of cleaning!

Interested in joining the Bark Family? We’d love to hear from you! 🧡

Meet Beverly! 🐾💕

One of our favorite things about The Bark is getting to know the dogs who make this place so special.

The goofy ones. The shy ones. The social butterflies. And the ones who have places to be and absolutely no time to waste!

Beverly is one of our daycare regulars, and she’s got enough speed and s***k to keep everyone on their toes! Her favorite activities include a good game of chase, splashing around in the pool, and spending time with her best friend, Flora. 💦

Every dog brings their own personality to our daycare community, and getting to know all their little quirks, friendships, and favorite things is one of the best parts of what we do.

We love our Bark dogs! ❤️

What does a reactive dog do on a field trip? 🐾

Meet Sawyer! He’s working through leash reactivity that shows up as barking and lunging at people passing through the hallways of his apartment complex and during neighborhood walks.

For this field trip, we took Sawyer to a soccer field right in his own neighborhood! Between lawn mowers, people passing by, and even a VERY loud train, there were plenty of opportunities to practice important skills in the environment where he needs them most.

So why bring a reactive dog somewhere with so many distractions?

Because successful positive only training isn’t just about addressing a behavior when it happens. It’s about building the skills that help prevent it in the first place!

During his field trip, Sawyer practiced stay, focus, leave it, and the Look at That game. These exercises help him develop impulse control, build confidence, and learn how to respond to the world around him without becoming overwhelmed.

The Look at That game is especially valuable for reactive dogs. It teaches Sawyer that he can notice a person, sound, or other trigger and then calmly reconnect with his handler instead of barking or lunging.

By practicing these skills at a comfortable distance from distractions, we’re helping Sawyer build positive associations and develop the confidence he needs to navigate his own neighborhood all without an E-collar.

The goal isn’t to teach Sawyer to ignore the world. It’s to teach him that he can notice what’s happening around him without feeling the need to react. ❤️

Every field trip is another step toward calmer walks, more comfortable hallway encounters, and a happier, more confident Sawyer!

We’re more than daycare. More than a dog park.

We’re the whole package. 🐾

At The Bark, we believe your dog deserves more than a collection of services. They deserve a community of people who know them, understand them, and genuinely care about their happiness and well-being.

Our dog park is at the heart of that community. It’s where dogs come to play, friendships are made, and people who love dogs find their people, too. Whether you’re stopping by for an afternoon of fun, enjoying a cold drink while your dog plays, or making the park part of your everyday routine, there’s always a place for you here.

And that sense of community extends into everything we do.

A place where your dog’s trainer knows their daycare team. Where their groomer understands their personality. Where play, learning, enrichment, and care all work together to give your dog the best life possible.

Whether your dog is here to make friends, build confidence, learn something new, get a fresh haircut, or spend the night, they’re part of the Bark Family.

Because we’re not just here to take care of dogs. We’re here to help dogs live really great lives.

That’s the Bark Dog lifestyle. 🧡
