Good Morning Everyone

First, thank you to everyone who has called, texted, offered assistance during this time. While this has been difficult the number of times we’ve been checked on has brought a lot of comfort to our family. Without going into too many details, Kate is in recovery. But she has a long road ahead of her and will need all the support she can get from her friends and family. With that being said I think it’s appropriate that we pause all Clever Canine bookings for the near future while we navigate her recovery. With the understanding that business will indeed resume once she is able. This is a business she has worked very hard to build and one that she has such a great passion for and I know she will want to see it continue to grow and become the special space her clients have helped in making it. As soon as she can I will have her begin reaching out to clients. You are also welcome to reach out to me and I will help in any way that I can. This is Kate’s husband. As some of you may be aware, Kate has experienced a medical emergency last night. I am doing my best to respond to messages. If you currently have dogs boarding with her they are being well cared for. If your dog is here for a board and train, it will likely be best to coordinate a pick-up with me if able. This is Kate’s husband Chris. Kate has experienced a significant medical emergency. I’m trying my best to access calendars, appointments, and messages. If you had scheduled drop offs or pick ups this week please coordinate through me by contacting me at 865-548-4567.

Dogs currently in her care will continue to be well cared for, I will ensure it. Right now I would say any drop offs that were suppose too occur this week we will need to reschedule. Please contact me to discuss further.

Everyone meet Knox! 🖤🐾

This handsome little guy recently started his one-on-one lessons with Clever Canine, and we’ve already got some important things to work on! Also he’s a Malinois puppy so I am super excited about this one!

Knox is a sweet puppy who’s still figuring out the world around him. He’s going through a bit of a fear stage right now (normal for his age), so some things are a little overwhelming for him.

But one thing Knox has going for him? A GREAT food drive! And we’re absolutely going to use that to our advantage.

Our first lesson focused heavily on confidence building, engagement, introducing clear communication, and helping Knox learn that new things don’t automatically have to be scary.

We’re also working on leash manners and teaching him how to slow down, observe the world, and make good choices instead of immediately wanting to retreat when something makes him nervous.

One thing I always remind puppy owners is that confidence doesn’t come from avoiding everything that makes your dog uncomfortable. It comes from giving them safe, positive opportunities to explore, learn, and realize they’re capable of handling new experiences.

And that’s exactly what we’re going to help Knox do!

I’m excited to watch this little guy grow over the next several lessons. We have a lot of puppy foundations to build, but more importantly, we’re going to help him become a confident dog who can navigate the world alongside his family.
