This PRECIOUS baby is Addy. She had TPLO surgery yesterday with Dr. Kapler! ❤️

Addy is 11 years old, and she wanted to remind everyone that age is not a disease! It is an important part of information that the veterinary staff needs so we can make the appropriate anesthesia adjustments.

Addy had in house bloodwork to ensure she had an an appropriate safety protocol for anesthesia, and she did wonderful! 🩸 💉 ⭐️

She was a little snow ball of love that let us all hold her and give her love and snuggles! She was SUCH a good girl! 🤗

Jennifer Belle, the new owner of The Dog Wizard, Knoxville has been a long time client of Blackford Vet Surgery. Her beloved pets have needed mass removals, invasive soft tissue surgery, and TPLO surgery. We have gotten to know Jennifer well over the past 5 years, and we want to work WITH her instead of just on her fuzzy family members!

It’s not everyday that you get to work on a precious little angel pug that came to see the surgeon all the way from 🌆 New York City 🍎!

We are so flattered that you trusted your sweet girl with us and made the long journey to allow us to help her!

Miss Bagel lives in NYC, but has grand parents in Tennessee. She saw Dr. Callie Blackford and had surgery to repair her luxating patellas! In 8 weeks, this girl will be shaking/trotting her little puggy cinnamon roll tail b***y all around the city showing off her new knees! 🛍️

She also had her nares done (smooshy face nose job 👃🏼 to open up her nostrils so help with breathing). Dr. Blackford gave her a nose job that all the plastic surgeons in the big city will be impressed with ! 😉 😂

Bandage changes aren’t scary when you’re being embraced by the staff! ❤️❤️

Trooper had some masses removed on Thursday and came in for a post op bandage change. Not only did he give us hugs, but he basically asked us to hold him closely! We had to oblige!

There’s a pretty big snugglefest going on over here today!

Caspian is here today for Dr. Hodshon to remove his bladder stones. Some of his internal organs have become friends with the outside of his bladder (potentially adhered) so he needs a little extra surgical TLC.

Daisy was the sweetest girl! She gobbled up her oral pre meds, wagged her tail during her IV catheter, and woke up in a recovery bed fit for the queen she is! 👑

That feeling you get when the anesthesia nurse gives your IV pre meds and you start to feel all happy and warm and tingly inside 🥰

Sweet Abby! With a few little gentle head pets after her meds, she was literally smiling!! When a dog that you’ve just met smiles at you, you can’t help it when your heart melts!

Abby is here today for TPLO surgery on her left hind leg with Dr. Kapler. She’s currently being snuggled while awaiting her turn for surgery!

🐶 🐈 Graduated vet school in Europe in 2015

🦆 Performed a rotating internship at Oregon State University

🐊 Performed her small animal residency and master’s degree at the University of Florida

👩🏻‍⚕️ Became an ACVS board certified surgeon in 2021

🇺🇸 Became a US resident in 2025! 🎉

And now she’s ready to call herself a Tennessee Vol!! 🎉 🧡 🍊
