It's been ear infection season in East TN and Admiral Vet! To help your dog prevent an ear infection, make sure ears are dried and cleaned after swimming and bathing. Recurring ear infections could be a sign of an allergy either food or environmental. Talk with us about a plan if this is the case. If you are unable to treat or clean your pets ears, let us help you with solutions such as infusion treatments or otipack medications. We are here to help keep your pet ear infection free!

For adoption through AVH to the rescue - Mario and Luigi need forever homes! They can be adopted together or separately. Both are 8 weeks old, weigh 2 lbs. They have been dewormed, had flea/tick prevention put on them, and had their first vaccine and kitten booster. Both are very sweet. Luigi is the longhaired one and is more outgoing and snuggly. Mario is shy and needs time to warm up but is very sweet. They need some socialization and someone to hold and snuggle them! They are healthy and using their litterbox well. Inquiries to adopt can be sent through messenger or email at [email protected]

Let's talk America's birthday πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‚

People: yay, 250 years old whoo hoo!!! 'Merica rules!

Your dog: Aaaaahhhh, fireworks are going to happen for days and days on end! Nooooooo!! πŸ§¨πŸŽ†

Get it together NOW before the end of the week. You know your neighbors are going to start celebrating early. Maybe you are the neighbor πŸ‘€

1)Get meds from your vet, or a thundershirt, try some white noise, habe secure kennels or a place in the house away from windows and doors, make sure all dogs have ID tags on them and collars especially this week and next when taking them outside.

2) If you have a dog that might bolt out a door to an unfenced area, block access to that door now, use baby gates or keep dog contained to one area of the house.

3)Sedatives and calming meds are your pups saving grace- Trazodone, calming supplements, Sileo, and/or C*D can help! Stay on top of the medications to keep your pup chill through the whole.long.weekend (and beyond?!?)

4)Be smart about trying to go on walks or taking them outside. In some places short quick potty breaks may be all you get once night falls.

5)If your pet is not microchipped, then DO IT! My hospital offers them complimentary with a new patient exam. If they are microchipped, make sure your info is up to date especially if you've moved or changed phone numbers and have not updated this info.

So be safe, have fun, but don't let your dog friends suffer. I'm all for a celebration but only when my dogs don't have to be around it!

Happy 4th y'all! πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²
