Knoxville, we need your help!! 💗 TODAY, we’re partnering with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library (Knox Co. Imagination Library) for a very special Story Time with the Cats, and we would LOVE to welcome some more little readers into our cat cafe!!

This event is about so much more than cuddling cats (although there will be plenty of that!). It’s about celebrating the magic of books, helping children discover a love for reading, and supporting the belief that EVERY child deserves access to stories that inspire them to dream big. 📖✨

We’re incredibly honored to partner with an organization doing such wonderful work for childhood literacy, and we want to give this special event the love it deserves!

Talisa here!! Knoxville, I’m asking you to show up for something really special to me.

Our Story Time with the Cats event is just TWO DAYS AWAY, and we’ve not sold many tickets. I’ll be honest: I’m really hoping we can get more people in the room, because this is so much more than just another event at Scruffy’s.

This is probably the most meaningful event I’ve put together all year.

When I started Scruffy’s, I wanted to create a place where people could find connection, compassion, and a little bit of hope. Over the years, I’ve learned that sometimes the smallest things can make the biggest difference. A cat sitting beside you when you’re lonely. A story that sparks a child’s imagination. A book that helps a little one discover a whole new world.

That’s why partnering with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library means so much to me. 💗

Every child deserves the opportunity to fall in love with reading. Every child deserves access to books, the chance to dream, and the opportunity to discover who they can become. Childhood literacy is something worth showing up for, and I want Scruffy’s to be part of making that happen.

So, two days from now, we’re bringing books and rescue cats together for a special story time. We’re creating a space where children can experience the joy of reading surrounded by some very lovable kitties, and where our community can come together around something that truly matters.

I really, really don’t want this event to fall through. Not because I’m worried about filling seats, but because I believe in what this event represents. I believe in the mission behind it. And I believe that the things we do for children today can make a difference for the rest of their lives.

If you have a little reader in your life, please consider bringing them. If you know a family who would love this, please share this post with them. Even sharing it could help us reach the person who needs to see it.

💙 Mental Health Monday 💙

A huge thank you to WBIR Channel 10 for having me on to talk about mental health and the work we’re doing at Scruffy’s. It means so much to see people talking about Code Word: Blue and the reason it was created.

I created Scruffy’s and Code Word: Blue because I never wanted people to feel like they had to face hard moments alone. Sometimes, simply knowing that someone is willing to listen can make all the difference.

And I truly believe we can do so much more when we do it together. 🤍

I want to connect with even more mental health organizations, advocates, and community partners who are passionate about making Knoxville a place where people feel supported, seen, and less alone.

🥹💗 LAST MONTH’S ADOPTIONS! 💗🥹

Another month. Another whole bunch of tiny lives changed forever. 🐾

Every adoption means a cat who once needed a safe place to land is now sleeping in a home, getting spoiled, finding their favorite sunbeam, and being loved exactly the way they deserve. 🥹

We don’t ever want to lose sight of how HUGE that is.

To everyone who adopted, fostered, donated, shared a post, sent a friend our way, or simply cheered these babies on from the sidelines, you helped make these happy endings possible. 🥹❤️

And to our adopted Scruffers: we will always be rooting for you. 🐱🏡✨
