Let’s talk about deshedding! This hair is from a labradoodle who’s taken more after his Labrador counterpart. Doodles and other mixed breeds have an unpredictable coat compared to pure bred dogs. To properly groom some of them, we need to remove their undercoat before giving them a haircut. You risk lines in the coat, the coat not laying flat, or just a finish that looks a little off. Next time you get that doodle on your table who just seems to have the worst coat, examine their coat type and maybe they’re a good candidate for carding and deshedding before their cut! Milo here gets to strut his fluff feeling lighter than when he walked in!

I will be participating and setting up a booth at Dog Daze this year!! I will have a spin the wheel for freebies (nail trims, groom discount, treats and toys), demo on Saturday morning with a client of mine, and info pamphlets on my philosophy on grooming!!
