Name: "New Hope" Maxie's Rancho New Hope
Breed: Miniature Horse
Gender: Mare
Year Born: 2002
Arrived: 2004

New Hope was Catherine's very first mini. She was the horse Catherine trained and was the mini that got her started in showing. She jumps, drives, does halter obstacles, obstacle driving, showmanship, tricks, and much more. She's been to 4-H Farm Days, taught classes for dog road trials (photo), been in the Karns Christmas Parade, and shown at the World level. New Hope still teaches students to drive, tiny tots to ride, and students of all ages unmounted skills. She is the most bombproof horse you will meet.

Horses are amazing jumpers! The record for the longest jump made by a horse is 8 feet and 1 inch, which is almost as long as a small car! Show jumping and eventing competitions often feature impressive jumps that require horses to demonstrate both skill and bravery.
