🐾 A few October pet care reminders: 🎃 Keep candy and chocolate away from curious paws! 🍬 Watch out for sugar-free treats containing xylitol. 👻 Choose pet-safe Halloween costumes and make sure your pets can see, breathe, and move comfortably. 🍂 Keep an eye out for seasonal hazards during outdoor adventures. 🐶 Keep those tails wagging with plenty of love, fresh water, and regular wellness care!

🐾 Pet Tip: Check Those Paws! 🐾

Your pet’s paws go through a lot! 🐶🐱

Take a few seconds to regularly check their paw pads and nails for cracks, irritation, debris, or overgrown nails. Catching small problems early can help prevent discomfort and bigger issues.

And don’t forget those nails! ✂️ Keeping them trimmed helps your pet walk comfortably and can prevent nails from becoming overgrown or breaking.

A quick paw check = a happier, healthier pet! ❤️🐾

🐾 Puppy Vaccine 101: Why Those Booster Visits Matter! 💉🐶

Those puppy eyes are hard to resist—but keeping your new puppy protected is one of the most important parts of bringing them home! ❤️

Puppies receive antibodies from their mother that can help protect them when they are very young. However, those antibodies gradually decrease, which is why puppies need a series of vaccinations rather than just one puppy shot.

🐾 Puppy vaccines are typically started around 6–8 weeks of age
🐾 Boosters are given every 2–4 weeks
🐾 The vaccine series continues until your puppy is at or after 16 weeks of age
🐾 Puppies need multiple boosters because maternal antibodies can interfere with early vaccines

Staying on schedule helps give your puppy the protection they need as they grow into happy, healthy adult dogs! 🥰

🐱 Bringing Home a New Kitten? Don't Forget Their First Vet Visits! 💕

Kittens grow up FAST! 🥹 What seems like a tiny, sleepy little furball today will be a much bigger cat before you know it.

Those first few months are an important time to establish a healthy foundation. Kitten wellness visits can include:

🐾 Physical examinations
💉 FVRCP vaccinations
💉 FeLV vaccination
💉 Rabies vaccination
🪱 Deworming
🔬 F***l testing

Just like puppies, kittens need a series of vaccines and boosters as they grow. Keeping them on the appropriate schedule helps protect them while their immune system is developing.

And don't forget—bringing your kitten in for regular exams gives your veterinary team a chance to monitor their growth and catch potential problems early. ❤️

Here in Tennessee, it doesn't consistently get cold enough for long enough to stop fleas from being a year-round problem. Fleas can survive in protected areas like homes, garages, crawl spaces, and other sheltered environments—even when temperatures outside drop.

That’s why we recommend keeping your pet on consistent flea prevention year-round. ❤️

🐾 Fleas can live inside your home
🐾 Just a few fleas can quickly turn into an infestation
🐾 Fleas can cause itching and skin irritation
🐾 Fleas can also transmit parasites, including tapeworms
🐾 Consistent prevention helps protect your pet and your home
