Solid Ground Equine Assisted Services Solid Ground provides equine therapy for individuals with cognitive, physical, emotional or behavioral disabilities.

Shelley Trumbly, Executive Director, founded Solid Ground Equine Assisted Activities & Therapy Center in September 2016. Solid Ground strives to enhance the quality of life of individuals with cognitive, physical, emotional or behavioral disabilities by providing them with therapeutic horseback riding and associated activities. Equine-assisted therapy is a relatively new form of therapeutic interv

ention which recognizes that the bond between animals and humans fosters emotional growth and healing.

Completed 6 weeks of life skills mini camp with co- hort Friends of the Children!!

Everyone successfully climbed Partnership Peak and received their completed badge and bookmark. Huge thanks to McKenna for all the time put into this, but mostly for blessing us with the song at the end. Thank you Friends and students for a truly amazing 6 weeks. Life skills week 4:
This group is Friends of The Children mentors/mentees! They come once per week for 6 weeks to work on life skills, communication, team building, sensory and emotional regulation in the arena. This is a great mentor /mentee activity to further enhance their bond and experience a shared activity outside of the classroom setting. These activities are made possible from the YDO grant.

If your organization is interested in this activity for your group message [email protected] for details on our fall session. The capacity is 6-8 youth age 6-17 range.

Pole Sponsor- In Memory of Marilyn Stewart

Marilyn Stewart, a much beloved mother and grandmother to the Staunton and Finney families, was an animal lover ahead of her time. Her kindness, thoughtfulness, and caring nature, while most deeply appreciated by her family, extended to the smallest and most helpless of God's creatures. She passed away in 2015 before Solid Ground was created, but the love and care Solid Ground provides for both people and animals perfectly fits her beautiful spirit. She is forever in the hearts of her family and remembered with joy.

Our sweet Roxy girl passed away in 2024, but she was an amazing lesson horse as well as a phenomenal trail horse!🐴🪽
