So a lot of my long term established clientele know that I struggle with a rare auto immune disease called systemic scleroderma (also known as systemic sclerosis) and I have been very open about it throughout my diagnosis and journey with it.

Six years ago was the beginning of the journey. Most of my medical care is done at OHSU with a wonderful team of specialists like my pulmonary, rheumatologist, cardiologist, and GI doctors up there.

I do have my Rituxan infusions done locally at Skylakes though twice every five months. During that time I am there for hours and am accompanied by my service dog Carry the German Shepherd.

Carry also demos for my classes occasionally and some of you have witnessed all the energy and drive she displays while demoing. It’s so neat to see how she adjusts so calmly when she is working as a service dog. She truly is a wonderful dog that is worth her weight in gold and beyond that.

I am so grateful for her company. I am grateful for all of my dogs honestly. All the hours that have been put into them has helped immensely during these life changes and we are still able to enjoy life as fully as possible.

Even with health changing throughout this time I’ve been able to continue doing what I love and that is working with dogs and their owners. I adore all the puppies that come through that I have the experience to see mature and thrive throughout the years. It’s wonderful to see the change in confidence in dogs that were once fearful and reactive turn into confident and happy dogs over a period of months.

It’s so cool to see all the accomplishments some of you have done over these years at the dog shows, at home, and while you’re out and about in public too.

I am so proud of all of my clientele and their pups. So thankful to work with you all and make a difference in everyone’s lives.

Thank you all for continuing to make The Ruff House Unleashed a successful dog training business. I look forward to many more years to come.

Happy training 🐕

It’s been great seeing bootcamper Bruno’s confidence build over the time of his stay.

No dog is too old to train and it’s never too late to do better for your pup. This boy is five years old and is absolutely rocking his obedience cues along with improving his leash mannerism and reactivity difficulties

Earlier this summer we had an eight year old dog stay for a month of training who has been doing phenomenal now both in her home and out in public as well.

Dog training and behavior management can be life changing for both owners and their dogs. It’s one of the best investments for a happy lifetime

Struggling with barking, lunging, snapping, or biting?

Are you unable to take walks safely with your pup due to their reactivity issues around other dogs or people?

Often reactivity is due to insecurities in dogs. This may be because of lack of exposure, fear periods, genetics, frustration, past bad experiences, or being unable to handle stress appropriately.

With confidence boosting and impulse control - we can work with the underlining issues that reactivity stems from to help better manage these difficult behavioral issues

One on one session packages are available along with dedicated board and train options to help with these specific needs.

With twenty years of professional training and behavioral modification experience let us help you and your pup improve your lives for the better.

Are you ready to commit to helping your dog become a better canine citizen who can enjoy life more in the real world?
