Lots going on at Hickory Stick Kennels as we head into fall. Delta’s in Force Fetch, Reign is expanding her casting, new pups are training for natural abilities, and Maci is ready for chuckers later this month. Dove opener was a blast, two bird shoots with Missouri Disabled Sportsmen , Ducks Unlimited banquet, making it possible MDS hunt, and probably a few more days in the dove field. Still have a couple more puppies than we need to train this fall… message if interested.

🇫🇷 Breed of the Week: Wirehaired Pointing Griffon

The Wirehaired Pointing Griffon was developed to be a true versatile hunting dog. Bred to point, track, and retrieve on both land and water, the Griffon is known for its close-working range, intelligence, and eagerness to please.

The Wirehaired Pointing Griffon also played a role in the development of the Deutsch-Drahthaar, with early Griffon blood contributing to the foundation of the breed alongside several other versatile hunting dogs.

With its harsh, weather-resistant coat and steady temperament, the Griffon is equally at home chasing upland birds, retrieving waterfowl, or tracking wounded game.
