August is Itchy Pet Awareness Month, and we want to help you get to the bottom of your cat's skin troubles! Frequent itching is usually triggered by one of three common culprits:

Animal Health is conducting a nationwide recall of two lots (25011 and 3369) of Adequan® Canine Injection (for dogs), 100 mg/mL 5mL multi-dose vials and two lots (24416 and 25265P) of Adequan® i.m. Injection (for horses), 500mg/5 mL single-dose 5mL vials to the consumer level. The products are being recalled due to the presence of glass fibers found during testing of internally retained samples.

Risk Statement: The administration of an intramuscular injectable product containing particulate matter, such as glass fibers, may result in local irritation, swelling, inflammation, injection site pain, infection, or abscesses. To date, American Regent, Inc. has not received any reports of adverse events related to the recalled lots.

Here are 4 simple, actionable steps you can take today to protect your feline friends:

🔋Go flameless & guard the stove: Switch to battery-operated candles so a curious tail doesn't knock over a live flame. If you have a counter-surfer, invest in stove k**b covers to prevent them from accidentally turning on a burner.

🏡Use a pet rescue window decal: Place a decal on your front window or door listing the exact number of cats in your home. This tells firefighters exactly who to look for if an emergency happens while you are away.

📲Keep microchips and collars updated: If your cat escapes during the chaos of an emergency, a breakaway collar and an updated microchip registry are their absolute best ticket back home.

🚪Keep carriers near your exits: Store your carriers in easy-to-reach spots near your main doors. You don't want to waste precious seconds digging through a closet during a sudden evacuation.
