Coming back from a week of traveling for the show, it was the kind of day where I spent a lot of time sitting in the pastures or on the water tanks reflecting with the horses…

It’s always a bit of a reset, recalibrate, evaluate type mentality when I come back from these trips. A good time for introspection. I’m constantly pondering the direction of my program and the caliber of my training and how to improve both.

I replay the events of the past week and the young horses and how they preformed inside and outside of the are arena, because hauling 15 hours each way and being expected to behave and perform is no easy task for a seasoned horse, let alone a trailer full of 4 yos.

Mostly I’m proud, but I strive to be honest with myself and value the take aways to always keep improving. Because if we stay stagnant, there’s no growth, and the growth is where the beauty happens.
