Pretty & Gritty Working Dogs

Directions

Pretty & Gritty Working Dogs The Cadillac of working dogs. We like them to be gritty and they just happen to be pretty. We use them to work sheep and cattle. They have style, eye, and bite.

Its like being book smart and having common sense, it just makes life easier.

What are your top 3 MUST HAVE you look for in dog?
Whether it be a certain attitude or disposition, maybe a bloodline, conformation, or even color.
I'll leave mine in the comments.
(Throw back of a nice pup from a few years ago)

Might not be the best quality picture but let me explain. This picture was taken by a 5 yr old at a roping. She loves taking pictures and videos and I don't mind. Whether at home or traveling I tend to have my kids take a dog were ever they go.
So here in this picture is Dice next to a dog and some ladies he has never met watching the roping and he is doing his Job. He takes care of my girls and they help take care of him.
I might not have what everyone wants and that's ok because I wouldn't trade what I have for the world.

Giz is one that will work his way into your heart. He always wants to go and work. He will give and give and when you think he can't give anymore he will. I myself am still very green as far as trying to work stock goes and that requires a dog to have a lot of grace, which he does. Giz is always happy to see me and willing to try again like nothing ever happened. He loves his people and kids. Is great around my chickens and ducks. He is a very fierce and loyal partner. He might not be your top stock dog but he fills so many other rules on a farm or ranch.

Time for a little introduction for one of our newer members of the pack.
This is Max!
He has been with us just over a month or so getting settled in.
He is just about a yr old Border collie. He is a non-stop kinda guy. 100 degrees doesnt care, midnight doesn't care he has one job and he is determined to do it. Definitely his best and worst attribute. I finally decided to see what he can do on stock and I am happy with what he offered and that he was willing to work with me.
Will give more of a backstory on him later.

Who doesnt love a red dog?
Fox is such a looker and wants to work soooo bad. Your neighbors won't need to call you to help get the bulls rounded up they can take fox and he will just go do it. He's got the look and drive. He is the perfect age at 16 months old. He wants to please and is ready for a job to get more experience.

This girl is making her way into my heart! She is so sweet to be around but loves a days work. She has really matured into such a fun and unique dog. Sometimes I like to bite off more than I can chew and I think I'm starting to figure out how to chew it. She is salty which I love. If I get skilled enough maybe I'll get a video of her working one of these days!

P.s. anyone see anything 👀 in the middle picture?

Hank man went on a road trip with us and met a barn cat. He was very intrigued by this adventure but was still a gentleman.
He is so biddable and willing takes everything in stride new places, people, and animals. It might be my favorite thing about him.

His littermates Zuma and Dozer went home to their forever homes and are getting spoiled with all the love. Very fitting homes and that is one of my greatest accomplishments.

Round 2! We did agility the first night. Then the second day we did showmanship, obedience, rally and conformation. We did some dog switching with the kids to see if they would do better and it worked out great!
