❤️ A LITTLE LATE NIGHT LOVE, A WHOLE LOT OF TEAMWORK! 🐾

Some days at Kingsport Veterinary Hospital don’t go quite as planned, and sometimes loving what we do means staying long after the day should have ended. ❤️
Today, our team came together for an unexpected, late-evening emergency C-section on a beautiful Rottweiler mama. It was one of those moments that reminds us exactly why we do what we do.
A HUGE THANK YOU to every team member who stayed late, worked hard, jumped in wherever needed, and gave their time, energy, and hearts to make sure this mama and her babies received the care they needed. We are so proud of our team and the compassion they show, even when the day runs long and everyone is ready to head home. 🩺🐶
And to this sweet family — thank you for trusting us with your precious girl during such an unexpected and important moment. Clients like you are truly special to us, and we are so grateful to be part of your pets’ lives. ❤️
We may leave late, miss dinner, and have plans put on hold, but when a patient needs us, we show up. Because behind every late night is a team that cares, a family that trusts us, and a patient who deserves our very best.

This sweet pup was found today in the West Stone Drive area of Kingsport, Tennessee. ❤️
A kind Good Samaritan has taken the time to help this dog and is desperately trying to locate the owner. Unfortunately, they are unable to keep the dog for very long, so TIME IS IMPORTANT!

🩺🐾 BLADDER STONES: WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW! 🐾🩺
Meet Dory, our sweet Dachshund mix patient who recently came to Kingsport Veterinary Hospital for a cystotomy — a surgical procedure to remove bladder stones!
👩‍⚕️ Dr. Nash performed Dory’s surgery, removing the bladder stones you can see in our photos! Take a look at the pictures to see just how many stones Dory had and the size of these little troublemakers! 😮
🧐 WHAT ARE BLADDER STONES?
Bladder stones, also known as uroliths, are hard mineral formations that develop inside the urinary bladder. They can vary in size and number, and some dogs may develop multiple stones at once.
🚨 WHAT SIGNS SHOULD PET OWNERS WATCH FOR? Dogs with bladder stones may show signs such as: 🐾 Frequent trips outside to urinate 🐾 Straining or difficulty urinating 🐾 Blood in the urine 🐾 Urinating small amounts more frequently 🐾 Accidents in the house 🐾 Discomfort or pain when urinating
⚠️ WHY ARE BLADDER STONES A CONCERN?
Bladder stones can irritate the bladder lining, cause inflammation, and interfere with normal urination. In some cases, a stone can obstruct the flow of urine, creating a life-threatening emergency. If your dog is straining but producing little or no urine, seek emergency veterinary care immediately!
🔬 HOW ARE BLADDER STONES TREATED?
Treatment depends on the size, number, and type of stones, along with your pet's overall condition. Some types may be dissolved with a special prescription diet and close veterinary monitoring. Others require surgical removal through a cystotomy.
After removal, analyzing the stones can help determine their mineral composition. This information is important because different stone types require different prevention strategies. Your veterinarian may also recommend urine testing, imaging, dietary changes, and follow-up monitoring to help reduce the risk of recurrence.

📸🐾 FOUR BICHONS. FOUR PUP CUPS. ONE HILARIOUS PHOTO SHOOT! 😂🤣

Yesterday at Kingsport Veterinary Hospital, we had the BEST time with one of our sweet clients and her FOUR adorable Bichons! 🐶🐶🐶🐶❤️
Of course, we had to introduce these fluffy superstars to our Photo Booth & Pup Cup Station! 🍦📸
The pup cups were a BIG hit! Getting all four to look at the camera at the SAME TIME? Well… let's just say we may need to schedule a few more photography sessions! 🤣😂
📸 One looked left, one looked right, one was focused on the pup cup, and the other apparently had a completely different agenda! 🤦‍♀️🐾
Professional dog photography? More like organized chaos with whipped cream! 😂🍦
We may not have gotten the perfect group picture, but we sure got plenty of laughs, kisses, and four very happy pups! ❤️🐶
