9/11-Twenty five years have past, when so many lost their lives due to senseless acts of terrorism. In the aftermath, hundreds of first responders and over 300 service dogs and their handlers worked tirelessly to try and locate survivors and then later the remains of the lost. The dogs were also there to comfort the exhausted rescue workers and help piece together the shattered lives of the survivors and grieving families. The first responders, the SAR and therapy dogs should never be forgotten for their heroic service and actins that day and the days that followed. (photo Andrea Booher, FEMA)
