Hello everyone! For this week’s Cham Encounter, we are going to do something a little different. We wanted to introduce the newest friend of the Chamily, our crested gecko Rocky!

Rocky came to us the exact same weekend we brought home Jadzia from the Atlanta Repticon. While he is not a chameleon, he does experience some color change. Crested geckos go through periods of being fired up and fired down. When he is fired up, Rocky is a beautiful brick red color with some cream harlequin marks on his back. When he is fired down, he looks more like sand on a sunny beach! Right now Rocky dines on Pangea crested gecko diet, but soon he can start munching on crickets just like his chameleon friends! Rocky loves to hop around like a frog and play hide and seek! He is also nocturnal, so he really loves his sleep.

Say hello to Rocky!

Hello there! After a brief hiatus, we are back with our weekly Cham Encounters! This week we want to introduce our sweet girl Cleopatra!

Cleo is a female veiled chameleon who loves superworms, crickets, and music! Yes music! One of our caretakers loves to sing to our babies in the mornings, and Cleo always comes out to claim her front-branch seat.

Cleo is very skeptical of humans. We found her at an expo, brought her home and gave her some much needed TLC. She has some trust issues from prior experiences, but is growing closer to us each day. She loves to sleep at the tippy top of her enclosure, and she acts as a bouncer to our reptile room, monitoring all who dare to enter. Say hi to Cleopatra! 🌿

Hello hello! On today’s Cham Encounter, we want to introduce the newest member of our family! This sweet girl is Jadzia Dax, or just Dax for short. Dax is a pure amilobe panther chameleon, and she is about 5 months old! Typically female panther cham’s colors are pastel pinks, dreamy oranges, or light purples. Our Dax shows a wide range of colors from brilliant oranges to beautiful blues and greens! She is definitely a one-of-a-kind girl! She even has a few Trill markings on her side if you look close enough! 😉

Dax is still getting settled in, but so far she likes crickets and will slurp up all the water she can find! She has grown particularly fond of our CEO Michael and runs to meet him whenever he opens her enclosure! He took one look at her and knew she would be the perfect addition to our family

We are excited to see how she does as she gets more settled in and aquatinted with her new home. Please help us welcome Jadzia Dax to the Appalachian Chamily! 💞✨

We’re chameleon breeders nestled in the mountains of East Tennessee. Our goal is to bring affordable, healthy and educational chameleons to the public and help educate those on the wonders and beauty of these creatures. We specialize in veiled, panther and graceful chameleons and have on-going breeding projects with some, if not all, mentioned! Before, during, and after you receive your Dragon, our job is to put chameleons in well educated, knowledgeable homes.

Please feel free to message us or call for any info. We’re happy to help, talk, and educate!
Thank you! 🌿
